Guest BlueTideBacker
I'm liking Christie more each day. A salary cap of 175K on school administrators is a good start for the ridiculous salaries being handed out by mayors to their cronys. Who created the qualifications necessary to become a superintendant of schools? The State! How much should a person earn who completes College, has experience as an educator, geta a Master's degree, than becomes an administrator in a school system and the complete their Doctorate degree? Doesn't the market and the potential candidates current salaries come into play such as experience, degrees earned dictate the salary? Yes, some are high especially with the small size of the school districts, but who created home rule? How many schools and/or towns want to consolidate for that matter. The Gov. is great at making headlines with a 2% property cap next year, but look at this years increase and all the exceptions to the cap. Where is the 2% or better yet the 20% reduction we all deserve in NJ??? Politicans are all the same, The Gov. was angry some superintendants were making more than he was! The job of superintendent is basically is to run a school system with the end result of educating the children of the community. The type of degree that person has means only that it should easier for them to accomplish that task. It doesn't matter to the child in any grade what type of degree the superintendent has. The fact that home rule allows a local school board to decide the superintendents salary leaves the process rife with political considerations. The fact that the superintendent in Harrison, just happens to be a city councilman, and makes what many consider an absorbent amount as school superintendent, does not pass the smell test. What did he make in his last job, with less responsibilty? What did our last superintendant make? What do our two assistant superintendants make? Surely you will concede he must get more than last job, or why move into this one. He did not manufacture the salary range, was just intelligent enough and paid his dues (educational degrees and experience) to take advantage of it! You sound jealous. Speaking of "smell test" -- can anybody rationalize Nasciemento's role at WMS?

Indeed, especially when his cousin is the President of the Board!
Guest Guest
Speaking of "smell test" -- can anybody rationalize Nasciemento's role at WMS? Ooh, how long have I been waiting for this? It was a reward from Doran. There has never, and I mean NEVER been anyone worse in the school system. Nascisemento has admitted, in front of witnesses, that he is there strictly for the money. How obvious, when you consider how ineffective he is. The teachers don't respect him, the kids make a fool of him. The only one two who sing his praises are Jim Dor'an and Allan Doffont. Why do we accept these so called "professionals" when we have no proof that they have credentials? Many people say that he has none - credentials that is. He certainly has balls to have accomplished what he has in this Town. Now we have three representatives on the Council who don't speak English. They do, however, make lots of money. Can anyone tell me what, WHAT have they done to improve this Town?? Huaranga - O; Nascimento -O ,and oh God, I hope not: Anselmo Milan! How can you people believe that he is not on board to serve his own purposes and people when all he did was to bad mouth the Bullfrog and the Bullfrog forbade patronage at the Spaniard's family restaurant? How soon you people forget? It's Politics 101 - the only problem is that the Town is going down the tubes. Nobody seems to care. The Mayor asked Anselmo to run on his ticket only because that is the only way for him to get the Spanish vote away from Maria. He could care less about you and Anselmo. Hope you peole wise up. He is using you.

The poster sounds more like a taxpayer who's fed up with the incredible lack of fiscal responsibility this town administration has shown.
