Guest guest
What in the world is with the tone of Karen Zautyk's front page article in this week's Observer? She's obviously a broad who has been around the block a few times, but that does not forget the childish and unnecessary "nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah" attitude of this article. http://www.theobserver.com/articles/2010/0...6b253828869.txt
Guest guest
KOTW tolds us where the plane is located. But which of the Supor warehouses is it in. KOTW is more business like in their story about this sacred plane. As usual the Observer, even with a writer who can write, messes up. This is not a story to be flip about. The passengers on this plane were blessed. This plan is worth more than the sum of its parts. Someone should buy it and allow folks to make it part of a museum. Good points but the silver lining in this is the fact that the Observer finally does have someone who seems to be able to write! How wonderful and what an improvement over Celeste R.! A month or so ago she was lamenting the fact that the paper doesn't get many letters to the editor and I was tempted to respond that it is because the current management has devalued the paper so much over the past few years that it has lost its relevancy and importance to our community. Talk to people from our communities who have tried to get info published regarding school activities, honor roll names, or events at our churches. A community newspaper should realize that it has to represent as many people and organizations as possible. One thing that has been consistently requested of the paper has been that it print a police log from our towns. When was the last time you saw one? If the Observer wants to hear from the community, they have to work a lot harder to represent the community and to be accessible/receptive to the community. I agree she DOES sound like a breath of Fresh Air after years of Canela, The Pagiarist, and Celeste. That said, one thing i can say im doubtful of is her "No Anonymous" policy. Lets face it we all are aware that the administration, like others (Remember Vartan/Czech?) has no compunction about retaliation against employees who shed light on some of the more incompetent, if not nefarious doings from Town Hall..without the option of keeping their names out of it a LOT of the information that has come out through the "Letters" page in the past will no longer have that outlet.
