Leadbeater cannot lower your taxes.

He is making promises he can't keep because he knows

that is what you want to hear.

He won't tell you what total savings he claims to make because they aren't enough to make a difference,

even if he could do them.

He will cost you more than he could ever save you

by making foolish promises and bad deals

like settling the union contracts before he knows what is in them.

Don't vote for someone who does not know what he is doing.

If you do, YOU will pay the price.

Im no huge fan of John's..but you are the one who is utterly wrong here. North Arlington used to routinely settle their Police Contract before the old one expired. It's rather obvious that YOU are the one who is unqualified to have an opinion. The way the process is SUPPOSED to work is that the unions and the town begin negotiating about 6 months before the contract expires. Each submits a proposal and they work out their differences and get it all done BEFORE the old contract expires. This way there is no gap, and no need for huge Retroactive Payouts like we have had every contract in Kearny for decades. NO ONE is saying "Lets just blindly agree to whatever the Employees are Asking" That is a LIE that you insist on repeating. What Leadbeater is saying is that he wants to handle the contracts the way the Kearny is REQUIRED to do by law, and has violated every contract for the last 35 years or so.

In the first place, you didn't understand the point. Sure, it's great if the town can settle its contracts before they expire. If both sides are reasonable, it can be done. But what happens when the union wants more than it is entitled to get?

Promising to settle ALL union contracts BEFORE they expire is blindly agreeing to whatever the employees are asking. That's the only way to guarantee a settlement in advance. He would have to accept whatever the union demands. Leadbeater doesn't understand that, and if he doesn't understand that, then he can't be mayor. It's not a lie. It's the truth. If he is elected, he will cost us a lot of money because he doesn't know what he's doing. Proof of that is when he was on the Council before and helped Vartan screw everything up. That's why they haven't been in charge for a long time. It would be great to have a better and stronger Republican party in Kearny. But if the Republicans want to regain control, then they should offer us a new candidate who knows what he is doing, not the same old retread who didn't know what he was doing then either.
