Unfortunately, there are worse crimes happening in the"H"that have to be investigated first and furthermore there are not very many cops left!

Keep up the great work Mayor.

Didn't we have like 70 cops a couple a years ago, I hear there are only 41 left, that's freakin scary

PS I guess we should start putting the bars on the doors and windows to keep the criminals out rather than putting them behind the bars..

The number of police officers

Years ago we had approximately fifteen more police officers than we do now. We eliminated three police officers on traffic posts, by replacing them with crossing guards. Three police officers have been replaced by meter enforcement people. Four police officers have been replaced by civilian dispatchers. Additional axillary police officers have been authorized to replace police from certain activities. The ambulance has been transferred to the fire department to free up more police officers. There is a civilian that drives patients to hospitals and doctors and is part of the police department. Several superior officer positions have been eliminated to put more patrolmen on the street. The record's bureau has hired several civilians to replace the cops. All of this justifies fewer police officers.

Now lets start with the Fire Dept. and the DPW.

Your close but your numbers are off, (1) Traffic posts, one was eliminated fer/bergen, a Crossing Guard could never replace and officer liabilty. (2) Dispatchers there are (8) and one supv dispatcher, they repalced (5) Lt 's on the desk. (3) Special Officers, three were hired (1) was arrested (1) quit and (1) still remains and does nothing but guard the new HHS.(4) the Ambulance did no such thing, when ambulance was given to HFD the PD was still at 65. Yes Superior and Patrolman have never been repalced, hence the staffing problem.

The Officers on the traffic posts have not been repalced, thats first. There were never 4 cops as dispatchers, it was one per shift, the ambulance was transferred to the Clubhouse because that was the only thing to keep them from being disbanded many years ago. Furthermore, you liar, Gary Garrison gets paid $85,000.00 per year to drive people to the doctor when the town already has a senior bus service (he is the Mayors ***on the street, his wife is a crossing guard now, and I imagine one of his kids works at Passaic Valley ****house. More nepotism, not public safety. The was 1 ****** cop temporarily in the record bureau due to administrative puposes for about a month like 6 years ago, and there have been no promotions since the Mayor begged but coudn't stop an ex-chief of police from turning in his buddy Tanski to the Prosecutors office. He is getting revenge at the Police and purposely putting the safety of the citizens of Harrison and the cops in extreme danger. So his position of 40% fewer cops is a deliberate act against the overtaxed citizens. Vote for him again, who cares. With the six new firemen they will be up to 62 cowards. Its your ass on the line! IMO, you pathetic liar.

In my opinion, they should give the ambulance back to the cops. This way when the three cops are on duty, 2 can do the ambulance and the one lone cop can protect the whole town. Like a Clint Eastwood movie. Also, paying a town pet, Gary Garrison, EIGHTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS a year to drive people to the doctor is CORRUPT, OUTRAGEOUS, and a BLATANT ABUSE of taxpayer money. Why wasn't the job posted for like $25,000.00. An out of work citizen would have gladly taken it in this economy. WASTE< WASTE<WASTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
