Guest Radagast
OK .. Let's talk about Kearny politics The only race in town is the Third Ward in this election, what are your thoughts? Why have our property taxes gone up? What would you like from your town government that you are not getting? Where do you want Kearny to go in the future? .... and let's attempt to be positive for a change.

Dodge R/T's is the way to go. Property taxes continue to escalate because of many factors which include insurance and education. Close the rumor mill and begin with the truth and perhaps some real moral terpitude when dealing with other individuals lifes. I want Kearny to look into those video speed cameras that catch speeders. This is a cash cow for many States and the Town should look into this type of program. Why don't you explain to the rest of us why taxes have gone up and what the future of Kearny is?

The people who lose in this is, well, everybody. Competition for office requires debate, and exchange of ideas, and even compromise. Come November, we won't have that. The town, in my opinion, needs rateables. Argue about Wal-mart all you want, but this type of business is good for the taxpayers. They may use town services, police and fire and such, but the big expense is education, and Wal-mart or self standing restaurants place no burden on the educational system. Do not think that I am blaming high taxes on education, that is not the case, but hopefully we don't overcrowd the system either. I would like to see the monies spent by the BOE to be as strictly applied to "classroom spending" as possible. I would rather pay teachers than administrators. How about a full time mayor, this would eliminate the need for Deputy Mayors or Business administrators? The mayor has the nerve to stand up at election time, maybe he shouldn't have the luxury of a salaried scapegoat if something goes wrong.
