It is a secret meeting to be held at the Popes house and you will only find out when you get your tax bill and McMole will conveniently be on vacation for your complaints. "Get with it, will ya!"

The HFD does everything in their power to deflect the fact that it is a complete farce of a service that the taxpaxers and home ownwers do not need. June already and not one fire, therefore no work. This is concrete evidence that Harrison does not need a paid fire department with a $13 million dollar cost per year. Imagine all of the wonderfull things that Harrison could do with that outrageous amount of wasted money by disbanding this dead wood.

See the light and demand change. Even after the stealing by the politicians which will take place out of the $13 million, good things could happen, like lower taxes, water bills, etc....Thats my opinion.

Get your facts straight buddy. HFD had a handful of fires this year already. A few that come to mind really quick are:

Basement fire where a few cats had died - house saved (about 2 months ago)

North 5th St - garage fire - house saved (the day after the previous basement fire)

Sussex / 2nd St corner house fire - house saved (same week as the other 2 fires)

Last years memorable fires:

Sussex St, woman was dead

Patterson St fire near Harrison Ave (same week as both Johnston Ave fires in Kearny)

HFD also assisted Kearny in the following "bigger" fires of the year:

2 fires same week on Johnston Ave

2 fires the same week about 2 months ago on Schuyler Ave (one on the 600 block, the other was a Brazilian restaurant near the park)

Kearny Ave fire on the 400 block just this week

And for your information, I'm not a fireman/friend/family member/etc. I just know facts that they do get some jobs, probably not as busy as Jersey City or other major urban cities but they have their share. The next time you go to your little council meetings ask if the HFD run logs are public information and if they are then you will see that your assumptions are totally wrong about HFD. One dept that needs alot of trimming is Harrison DPW with over 50 employees!! It doesn't bother you that the DPW is as big or bigger than the FD? They are city maintenance workers, not public safety!! Get your priorities checked ! ! !

You say this several this year and then you point out one this year where a cat died, maybe because of the fire. Thats not several, its one! Then you say last year a woman died in a fire. She was killed and already dead. Harrison is not Kearny if you hadn't noticed. Your examples of your life threatening job are a bunch of crap and so are you and your overpaid, sleeping, do nothing ass. Quit and do everyone a favor.

The point was, there ARE fires in Harrison. The details listed were just some details of the fire. Point being, there are fires in Harrison and at least 3 houses were saved this year so far by the HFD. And Kearny gets alot of help from HFD if you haven't realised. And no, I'm not a fireman. At least the fireman get paid for what they HAVE to do, you get paid for doing nothing on Sussex/1st.

OK. Thats a total of 6 (if theres any truth to that) fires in two years. The total budget for battling these mindblowing life threatening blazes is in the area of $26 MILLION DOLLER$. Thats about $4 MILLION DOLLARS each. They must have been very traumatic events to require that dollar amount of manpower and equiptment plus mutual aid involved. The HFD fights no fires without mutual aid. They have in the past stated that they fight the fires as "defensive attacks." In other words, get the hell as far away as you can and squirt water while the other towns firemen do the actual entries to a building, which none of them required. You blinked first hose boy, your f**king cowardice is so sickening your family couldn't live in town because of the verbal abuse they would get. How about a small fire on Kingsland Ave. a few years ago when a civilian had to help drag a hose while six or seven fireman were begging a now Deputy Police Chief to get them water to drink because they were too tired. IT was SOOOO HUMILIATING it was sick. How brave you are!
