Guest guest
Why has there been a dip in the number of burglaries and citizens getting their clocks cleaned by gang members? The gang members must be getting lazy or realize the citizens are so f**king poor from paying taxes that its just not worth the effort. IMO, the gang members should use the list of town paid employees and go burglarize their homes in the safe communities in other towns where they live while the princes and princesses are collecting their check every day. A few more beatings would also help. After all, you say the HPD s**k so maybe in the towns you live in they do a better job.

Probably because few of them live close enough to Harrison to make it practical for our residential felons to rob.

Guest Guest
THEY ARE CROOKS THEY ALL DO DRUGS AND STEAL YOUR MONEY THEY ALL GET RICH OFF THE CITIZENS OF HARRISON While I'm no fan of Higgins, you're wrong on the pension figures. He can only collect one pension from the State of NJ. To colect two would be "double-dipping", which is illegal.

Guest Guest
It's easy to resolve this problem. Hire more fireman, family members, and cronies so when they go by the gas stations if they see something that looks wrong they can call the HPD and one of the two cops on duty can call kearny for mutual aid like the HFD does. Problem solved.

Guest Guest
Who cares if the VP of Lincoln school got his ass kicked the other night. There are probably 6 or 7 more on the payroll to do the "work" that he performs. As the econmy gets worse, and it will, many more beatings and robberies will take place. If the 2 cops on duty can't get then call the bravest, I amsure they will get out of bed and race to rescue you. You are just sheep waiting for the wolves to come and don't realize it. Guest Guest
IMO, if I am not mistaken, the last person who who took his own life was a fireman who got his pension and medical benefits for the admiral habit of "stress" (LOL) induced drug abuse because of the harsh demands of the HFD. He got a heroes funeral paraded around the town as a great example to the children. At least that left more $$ in the pension fund and less medical benefits for the town to cover. That seems like the only way to get rid of these useless fireman. Nine million budget + O.T. for what, one fire this this year where they tried to revive a charcoal grilled corpse. Well worth the tax dollars (LOL).

Guest Guest
84-year-old Harrison man is found dead in alley November 05, 2008 15:45PM Tearful family members hugged in the street as they arrived at the site where the body of an 84-year-old township man was found in an alley today, officials said. Alfredo DeSilva, of Davis Avenue near Hamilton Street, apparently left his home for a walk this morning and did not return, Hudson County First Assistant Prosecutor Guy Gregory said. His body was found before noon in an alley between two buildings at South Fifth and Ann streets near the post office and library building. Gregory said he did not have information on who found the body. The cause of DeSilva's death has not yet been determined, but there were no obvious signs of trauma, Gregory said, adding that an autopsy is to be performed today or tomorrow at the state Regional Medical Examiner's Office in Newark. A family member who described himself only as DeSilva's son-in-law said family members did not know what happened. Officials said DeSilva had health problems.
