Guest Guest
New recycling laws on a state basis, make recycling of computers, televisions, and some other electronic items mandatory. To meet this requirement the Town of Harrison has set up a program which requires you to bring these items to the town garage for recycling. To make it more specific, you must make an appointment to bring these items in, and it can only be done two months of the year. What if you don't have a car or truck? Suppose you are elderly and can't transport these items. What if they won't fit in your car? Where you keep these items until the time of year comes when you can dispose of them? The head of the street Dept., R C, doesn't care. He has transformed the workers in the Street Dept into junior executives who don't want to get their hands dirty. Wouldn't it make more sense to schedule a pick up day for these items, like they do for other pick ups. This is just another example of services in Harrison going down hill. Maybe Tom P. Can figure out an answer since he doesn't know what his job is, maybe he can pick up these items.
