I will be the first person to "Booo" when your son gets called. You come on this blog like the innocent victim and those of us that know you know of your venomous ways.

There is no way that Matthew gets this escalated without the meddling of you, his father. So please do not try to come on here and act innocent. Name dropping went out years ago so we are not impressed.

What you and for all intensive purposes your son have done to this graduating class for the past two years, can never be undone. They will always have this stigma about them and their thoughts of what should have been a happy Junior and Senior year will never be given to them. The fact that you reiterate that no one backed Matthew doesn't even slightly make you think that his actions were inappropriate and that you sugarcoated them with legal mumbo-jumbo and lawyer threats to ease your sons issues and make a name for him. If anything should be done it should be an apology to this class for you trying to "break some eggs" in this town. Too bad if you don’t like it, that’s what us parents have felt the last two years.

The whole world backed Matthew. Some knuckle-draggers in Kearny did not back Matthew, and not one of his classmates had the character to speak the truth.

Venemous? You should look that word up. It means poisonous. It's not a synonym for "doesn't agree with meeeeeeeeeeeee. I want Mr. Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee to preach in school, and that bad old Matthew stopped him. Waaaaaaaaaaaa!"

You stand up and boo, nice and loud and long. What are you going to do, wear a bag over your head?

"Mr. P, tell me that story about dinosaurs on Noah's ark again! That was a fun one."

Gutless. Brainless. Clueless. Not a good combination.

Wrong again, maintenance-mop breath. His claim to fame, well-earned, is for

- playing violin

- acting, including an off-Broadway show where he played the lead

- calling out an inaccurate textbook with support from high-level scientists and many others (AP story, LA Times Op-Ed article, which he wrote)

- taking on leadership roles in two college organizations (and he isn't even in college yet)

- two favorable editorials in the New York Times (you let us know when you get one)

So you see, Abner, Matthew's commitment to these issues went public in a big way when he called out a renegade teacher, but it didn't end there. Since that story broke, Matthew has continued to fight for these causes, thereby earning an international reputation as a champion of religious freedom and freedom of speech. I understand it's a big time commitment.

What you don't seem to appreciate is that his work on these issues is a service to the school and the community. You don't criticize our soldiers for not doing community service when they're in Iran fighting the war. Matthew's work on these issues take a lot of time. So before you criticize someone who has already contributed more to his community and his country than most of us ever do, you should take a little time to study the facts. That assumes, of course, that you care about religious freedom for the minority, which you probably don't - because if you did, you would recognize that Matthew IS a hero.

As for people outside Kearny, they read about knuckle-draggers like you. Every time Paszkiewicz or his lap dogs spoke out, they just made what they were doing more obvious. The world called you for what you are. Petty, ignorant, bigoted and blind.

As for your best wishes, if that's your idea of wishing Matthew well, maybe you should keep it to yourself.

Wrong again. His claim to fame is the Paszkiewicz issue. Nobody has given a second thought to the other things that you've mentioned. Matthew serves only one person's interests, his own. That is why his name wasn't mentioned at the awards ceremony. They don't give awards for selfish protests or trying to get a custodian fired.

Please! no "Boooing"!, you'll only create a "Circus" (and that would be your fault) on what is to be a celebration for all the graduates. Let them have thier special night, those heros worked hard for four years for it. I certainly hope the school makes do with the promise to remove anyone who disrupts the ceremony.

What should it have told him?

That the other students were right and Matthew wasn’t telling the truth? He knew Matthew was telling the truth because he had the recordings. Your reaction is exactly what Paszkiewicz was counting on. If Matthew hadn’t recorded those classes, he would have been made out a liar and every other student would have stood by and watched him be thrown under the bus. That’s why Matthew is a hero. He took a personal risk. He minimized the risk considerably by recording the classes. That doesn’t make him devious. It makes him smart.

Should it have told him that the community is right, Paszkiewicz’s conduct is no big deal, it’s even OK? He knows it’s not OK. Some people in Kearny may not see it, but everyone else does.

The better question is: what does it tell you. Nothing yet, because you’re not listening. But here’s what objective observers outside Kearny said about you. There used to be many more, but they seem to have been deleted. My favorite was the one about how Kearny is proof that evolution sometimes works in reverse.

There’s nothing new about what you’re doing. You reflect an attitude that is often seen in insulated little communities that go their own way and try to avoid the influences of the outside world. What makes it so startling is that Kearny is so close to Manhattan. Again, objective observers from all over the country commented many times how shocking this was.

Matthew is a whistle-blower. Here’s a short reading list on the subject.

This one is especially powerful. It puts the lie to the argument that Matthew could have predicted he would come out the hero.

Or, if those are too hard for you, read this simple little story. It tells the tale.

Tragically, some of the good people of Kearny are unwilling to admit that they have no clothes.

So if you want to ask that question, you tell us: What should it have told him? Be specific.

"Everybody" doesn't mean just you and your fellow knuckle-draggers. The Los Angeles Times invited him to write an Op-Ed piece because they respected what he had done. The American Humanist Association awarded him the Humanist Pioneer award because the Paszkiewicz case wasn't his only accomplishment. Center for Inquiry backed him because they recognize that he is exceptional. Just because your mind isn't bigger than your mop bucket doesn't mean that the rest of the world doesn't exist.

What's your problem with people that mop floors for a living? You show what a pompous ass you are with every post. What you, Paul, and Matt don't get is the big picture. You don't live in reality. You think everything is black and white. You never make mistakes or miscalculations. You sit back and wait for someone to trip up and you pounce on them. Then you wrap yourselves in The Constitution and call yourselves heroes. The way Paul makes his living revolves around human error. Maybe one day doctors and drug companies will stop pushing the envelope because of people like Paul. You call yourselves humanists, but you don't know the first thing about human nature..

If I had said that about your kid, what would you say about me?

I’m truly sorry that you choose to write things like this, especially without giving your name. To be blunt, I’m very disappointed in the lack of courage and integrity displayed by Matthew’s classmates in letting him twist in the wind alone, even though they knew he was telling the truth. Not hard to see where they get it.

That’s not a gentle response, is it? But it’s not personal to you (1) because you insist on being anonymous and (2) I would tell Matthew exactly the same thing if he remained silent while someone else was taking it on the chin. He wouldn’t do that, though, and that’s why he is who he is.

The way I see it, most people in our community say they value and honor courage – but when it comes time to show it, most of them don’t. What you’re really telling me is that you don’t value the things that keep a community’s or a nation’s political life alive. Matthew was OK with you so long as he did what you expect kids to do. The minute he thought and acted for himself, and caused a stir, you turned on him.

I’ll say it again. Democracy will not survive that way. To make mayonnaise, you must break some eggs. To have a democracy, some people must rock the boat. Democracy or all-conformity all-the-time. Take your pick.

I don’t think you appreciate the amount of time Matthew spends on religious freedom and other First Amendment issues, and on educational quality issues. He is on the phone and answering e-mails two to three hours every evening. He is now in demand within the groups that care deeply about these issues. He is scheduled to return this afternoon from ten days of conferences and training sessions in Washington, D. C. If previous experience is any guide, he will have hundreds of e-mails waiting for him when he arrives home. The Center for Inquiry is going to be flying him to half a dozen cities around the country during the coming academic year to represent their campus outreach program, of which he is now the president. To pull together the support for his battle on the Wilson-DiIulio textbook required many hours of work. Getting commitments from Ken Miller, Barry Lynn and Charles Liu to come to KHS to lecture took at least a week’s worth of work, full-time. Most people don’t seem to appreciate that these men are all top experts in their respective fields; getting to come here took a lot of time and effort, and even then it only happened because they felt strongly about what had happened, too.

What I’m telling you – again – is that you may not think these issues are important, but many Americans do. Matthew is fighting for his community, his school and his country. You just don’t see it.

I would like to be able to put a name and a face to your post. Come on over to me at the graduation ceremony, say hello and personally own what you just wrote. It’s the right thing to do. I won’t bite.

When the preacher-teacher was taking it on the chin what did you tell Matthew to do? When the custodian was taking it on the chin what did Matthew do? When the humiliated teacher that was forced to apologize took it on the chin what was your advice?

Is it the humanist way to prove your point no matter who it hurts? Is that what you call working for your community? I think that you and Matthew could find many more constructive ways to help your community. But looking at what you choose to fight over, maybe I'm wrong.

Excuse me, but where do you get off blaming Matthew for the acts he exposed? Only really backwards and biased thinking would lead to that conclusion.

It's not his fault he uncovered heinous things; it's the fault of the people doing said things.

Sit back and wait? Paszkiewicz hit the ground running with his preaching.

You're obviously just annoyed that he didn't get away with his inappropriate and unethical actions. Your ridiculous description of waiting for someone to trip up and pouncing on them could be equally used to describe the police, you realize.

When someone is trying to demonize

Then you wrap yourselves in The Constitution and call yourselves heroes.

Cite just one example where Matthew or Paul called themselves heroes. Just one. Can you do it? Or are you going to prove once again what a pack of liars people like you are?

The way Paul makes his living revolves around human error.

More stupid lawyer-bashing. Grow the hell up--frivolous lawsuits are the fault of the people doing the suing, not the lawyers.

Maybe one day doctors and drug companies will stop pushing the envelope because of people like Paul. You call yourselves humanists, but you don't know the first thing about human nature..

He sure gave Paszkiewicz more of a benefit of the doubt than he deserved, so I wouldn't run my mouth with that nonsense. Paszkiewicz did and still deserves to be fired, yet the LaClairs made no attempt to get him fired even though there was plenty of justification for it, ESPECIALLY considering that the preaching bozo still has NEVER admitting to ANY wrongdoing whatsoever. None.

There's no comparing any of those cases with Matthew's.

The preacher-teacher talked himself into his own problem, then lied about it to try to worm his way out. He never apologized.

How did the custodian take it on the chin? What do you know about the situation - unless of course, you're the custodian. So tell us, what happened? Give us your version. Obviously, you/he is still working there, so what's your problem. Just what did you do? How did you manage to get involved with Matthew? I thought your job was maintenance. Go ahead, tell us what happened.

The "humiliated teacher" apologized because he/she did something wrong. So he/she apologized for it. Case closed, matter over. What's the problem?

The difference is, Matthew did absolutely nothing wrong. If he had done something wrong, presumably he would have had the character to apologize and that would have been the end of it. But we'll never know, since he did nothing wrong.

So yes, you are wrong, but not for the reasons you think.

That's a lot of stupid in a short post. Let's go one at a time.

1. When you write about a story that was never publicized, you reveal your identity. Who else would know about it?

2. You use that word "pompous" a lot. I don't think it means what you think it does.

3. On the contrary, theirs are some of most carefully reasoned posts here.

4. Everyone makes mistakes, plenty of them. The difference is, some people admit it and move on.

5. There's no evidence of that. Matthew saw wrong going on and did something about it. It's pretty obvious that there are problems at KHS. Matthew can't stop that single-handedly, but at least he can let us know what's going on, and do what he can to stop it. If more students had his courage, those problems wouldn't be there.

6. When the Constitution is at issue, it's important to defend it. Obviously, you don't think so.

7. Matthew has never called himself a hero. Many people have, including many respected national organizations.

8. Yeah, and doctors make their living off human illness. And police make their living off criminal activity. So what?

9. When do you expect this to happen? Would you prefer the Chinese system, which recently gave us contaminated medicines and food products and toys?

10. They seem to have your number pretty well. You got your ass kicked and you just can't get over it.

Who "forced" the "humiliated teacher" to apologize? If a "humiliated teacher" "was forced to apologize," maybe the "humiliated teacher" had something to apologize for.

As for Paszkiewicz, you've gotta be kidding me. The guy was and is a complete jerk.

A custodian - what's that all about?

"No matter who it hurts" - what are you talking about? Words are supposed to be related to something. You're just throwing them around because you think they sound good.

Just because some people in the community can't accept it doesn't mean that Matthew didn't serve his community.

I think most people understand that it's not Matthew's responsibility to bail people out who have done something wrong. The preacher-teacher, the loud-mouthed custodian and the humiliated teacher all brought their problems on themselves. Any other point I might make has already been made.

Don't you think it's ironic how you boast that the entire world supported matthew, yet only a few post before this you mentioned "that not person in matthew's class backed matthew. So which is it? The students that were there that you don't even consider part of this world or people who heard a good lie through a newspaper article articulated by a lawyer dad with his legalease? So who would you have me believe or am i suppose to believe your lies?

Finally friday "junior" will be out of the Kearny school system. I thought that day would never come.

The whole world backed Matthew. Some knuckle-draggers in Kearny did not back Matthew, and not one of his classmates had the character to speak the truth.

How long have you been keeping a scrapbook of all of juniors accomplishments? Either you are a family member or someone who is so far up his butt that you have not seen the light of day in some time. This story was never about Mr. P. It was just a ploy for junior's fame and he got it. I have nothing to be jealous of this boy about. Everyone in this world gets what coming to them at some time or another. This was just his 15 minutes of fame. He will fade off into the dust just like everyone else.

No scrapbook or family connection necessary. Just google his name along with words like hero and award.

15 minutes? You wish. It's a year and a half and running.

Keep writing, moron.
