Guest guest
The mayoral position in Harrison must be changed to be a full time job. I don't see how anyone can have a separate career and then attend to the affairs of the town. Being CEO of a municipality in NJ today requires full committment. Nights and weekends don't cut it and neither does three or four days a week while attending to other employment. No other employment may be engaged while in office. Salary doesn't have to be enormous, 80K per annum will do it. I don't see how our current mayor can do it, neither a potential candidate who is a police officer from what I understand. Harrison must come first always.

So you tell us you think they shouldn't hold a full time job, but would they do it otherwise? I don't think they are willing to give up their state or county jobs, they are double banging the system because they all get to collect 2 or 3 pensions. They aren't the stupid ones. WE the voters are.... I know where my vote will be going on TUESDAY!!!!! Do you??????????
Guest buttons
Agreed! I think we need a business man to run this town as a business, someone smart with financial saavy to make decisions based on whats best for the town, financially and practically. Or we should take someone with an esteemed job who works with the public. RAY is about as close to this as we'll get. hinchy's signs should read "DUMB AS A ROCK, and AS FRIENDLY AS ONE TOO!" not even a punchers chance -- Mc- done-a-lot! 4-

A Business Administrator would handle the day-to-day issues and problems that arise. A professional Business Administrator would have advised the mayor to NOT go forward with 7,000 housing units and a soccer stadium. The days of having plumbers run the town have to end. I would urge Michael to bring on board a Business Administrator and some common sense and professionalism to his administration.

So voice your opinion and disagree but the idiot stuff? At least the asshole 2smat4u had a valid response for once. You obviously put no thought to this. So answer, should the mayor be a fulltime paid position. Just say yes or no. And my vote tuesday..... that's for the NJ democrats.....which I'm not!
