Apparently the U.S. employers needs low skill, low pay workers and guess who fits the bill. It's in this area because that's where the work is, near the big cities. You don't hear of any mass immigration of Europeans lately, do you? As far as run down homes go, I'd have to say that is due to renters and we got lots of them. It's not their house so what do they care, they can move anytime. The landlords don't care because they're willing to rent to anyone with the money. Now as far as calling that person ignorant, celebrating a country that you left so you can have a better life doesn't make a whole lot of sense, otherwise you would not have left. Why didn't you make that a better place to live? Learn to assimilate and speak the language, which by the way is English.
