The Honorable Mayor has handed you the gifts of top notch Police, a genius B.O.E., determined town employee's and some of the highest paid Firefighters in the state. You pay very low taxes yet still complain. What nerve! Now you make unreasonable demands to remediate the minor inconvenience of a small sanitary trash disposal area. A mild odor and some tiny puddles during bad weather is nothing compared to the paradise called Kearny in which you have been allowed to live. It's obvious that there's no one more intelligent in Kearny or he wouldn't be elected so easily everytime he runs. Guest Santos Spin Control Posted March 31, 2019 Report Share Posted March 31, 2019 Very surprised to see the Mayor standing in front of this serious heath issue that if it wasn't for him allowing this dump to open in the first place there would be no issue and Kearny could breath clean air in a time where taxes are out of control and public education is being threatened with charter schools invading Kearny. What more can the residents and taxpayers put up with? Kearny needs change and with no opposition to this adminstration we will continue with same program of runaway spending, nepotism, self serving political jobs and all on the backs the taxpayers of Kearny. You are no hero Mayor you just don't want people to know its your fault for allowing this dump to be opened in the first place. The NJMC will then dictate to the construction companies where they are to dump their debris. And they can set whatever price they want. If the NJMC doesn't make money, the NJMC ceases to exist. We in Kearny need to keep a close watch on who the next Governor appoints as the new Chair of the Meadowlands Commission. Susan Bass Levin recognized a long time ago that re-opening Keegan was the only way the NJMC could stay in business. And she successfully pulled Kearny's elected officials over to the dark side. In the mid-90's Kearny residents fought the re-opening of Keegan. I remember arguing with former Chairwman Harriet Derman at several HMDC meetings. It wasn't until she was finally replaced as Chairwoman that the project was finally scrapped. Hopefully this will happen again. Jim Mangin What an amazing post from 2005 (over 14 years ago). It's the same old Santos story. Jim Mangin Mangin was Right and Santos was wrong. Read the above statement by then Councilman Jim Mangin and how on the money it is.
