Guest Guest
The above mentioned people are true pros, not the pretend type. They have contracts but on an individual basis, not as a group! In the case of pro athletes, the better he/she performs the bigger the pay check. So when you start to negotiate on an individual basis then maybe we will consider you a professional. Your a labor pool. To quote jw, stop the "BULL SHIT" Yea really!Ps. with the exception of actors there just phonies. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "They have contracts but on an individual basis, not as a group!" No they don't. You're an idiot. And that's just a small example. And by the way it's "they're phonies" not "there phonies" you a**!

Because they bring in a profit, a return on the investment. Teachers do not.................or do they? What's more important......to you, a baseball team's success or your child's education? Let's say you could determine the best math teacher in the country. Would you pay them as the best with your tax dollars? Would you then do the same with the other subjects? What would your taxes be then? Are the best minds in the country going into teaching, choosing that over medicine, law, engineering, computers, business, all for summers off? Are you a teacher? Why not? There is a teacher shortage in this country......why? Why does alternate route exist at all? Why do teachers leave Kearny after a few years of teaching? Athletic unions negotiate a lot as a group, but not their salary. Something tells me we are a lot better off, financially, that teachers don't negotiate individually, unless of course we would just settle on the cheapest..........................Would we? Would you?

They spell out everything from hours required, approved conferences, vacations, reasons for dismissal and compensation at time of dismissal or as they say in the Corporate world unexpected resignation etc. Only in Kearny do they have employment contracts that they do not honor or go to court over(at taxpayer expense) or for that matter have employees working for years without them. Does anyone think maybe that is because this mayor is an attorney. You know what they say about attorney.

Guest Knowing
Thanks Mr. Magin, again your the only one with answers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mr. Mangin's explanation of the hand scanners and the fact they were not used because of the teacher's union contract is absolutely correct. No one on the bd. of ed. had the smarts to check that out first. Useless and inept but someone keeps voting them in. It's sickening.
