Guest michael hinchcliffe
DID YOU KNOW THAT HARRISON NO LONGER OWNS THE TOWN HALL? IT SEEMS THAT HARRISON WAS IN SUCH FINANCIAL DISTRESS THAT THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL SAW FIT TO REMORTGAGE OUR OWN TOWN HALL. DID YOU ALSO KNOW THAT BEFORE GIVING AWAY THE STADIUM THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL HAD TO SELL IT TO OUR OWN BOARD OF ED FOR SOME EMERGENCY FUNDS? WHAT'S NEXT , RENTING OUT OUR TOWN TRUCKS TO HELP GET REDEVELOPMENT UNDERWAY. IT IS AMAZING TO SEE THAT OTHER TOWNS WOULD GET A SAY IN DECISIONS LIKE THIS THROUGH REFERENDUM VOTES WHEN HARRISON POLITICIANS DO WHATEVER THEY FEEL LIKE WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE RESIDENTS. HOW MANY RESIDENTS WERE ABLE TO OBJECT TO BUILDING A NEW SCHOOL THAT IS GOING TO BE BUILT MILLIONS OF DOLLARS OVER WHAT THE STATE HAS OFFERED FOR SPENDING. I GUESS OUR TAX DOLLARS ARE THE PROPERTY OF THE HARRISON GOVERNMENT AND WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO QUESTION WHERE IT GOES. MAYBE WE SHOULD START CALLING IT THE HARRISON MONARCHY INSTEAD OF THE HARRISON COUNCIL.
Guest Former Town Resident
MH, Read my reply under your "tearing down Harrison". It may be time for residents of Harrison to unite and demand better government. The first step in that process would be to hire a business administrator. Guest Way to go.
For all who think Mike is inexperienced this shows his dedication towards the Town of Harrison. Mayor McDonough is only experienced in fixing PVC pipe. Bob Murray runs the town and fleeces it dry. Mike keep the good work. You got my back.
