In other words, he's everything Hilliary and Osamabama isn't. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Guiliani doesn't have the temperament to be president, and I'm not convinced he has the intelligence. After eight years under a consummate jackass, we're going to need someone whose qualifications go beyond a single moment of glory after a terrorist attack. As mayor, he attempted to sue gun manufacturers for crimes committed with their products. His Bracewell and Giuliani firm has lobbied for stem cell research. He was told specifically by the Police and Fire Departments that the backup center should be physically some distance from Police HQ like Brooklyn (it is there now). He and the security experts also knew that the WTC is one of the highest priority terrorist target in the US, thanks to the 1993 bombing. But he insisted that it be in the WTC anyway, as he put it “its near my office and convenient for giving tours to visiting dignitaries and friends”. Rank and file NYC Fire MOF have nothing but contempt for him. And he pushed his business partner Bernie Kerik for head of Homeland Security. Kerik didn’t get the job because of his mob connections, gifts from his mob friends, his arrest warrant over a civil suit, his hiring of illegals and failing to pay taxes for the illegal help. The above caused warning flags to be raised in the White House when they went through the vetting process but Gonzalez (at the time the senior White House lawyer) disregarded them because of Giuliani’s personal recommendation – “don’t worry about these little things, they’re not important”.
