  1. hey, just think of all the progress smart people have made convincing Christians that micro-evolution is possible. That's a HUGE step in the right direction, considering the blinders Christians wear. Give Christianity another 500 years or so and they'll begin to accept macro-evolution too. (If their Jesus doesn't return before then).
  2. You do? How sweet. And why do you pity me? Because you believe that Jesus is God and I think he's not? Be you believe that faith in Christ leads to salvation, and I think it's just another superstition? So, why exactly do I deserve your pity? Because I can think for myself and realized that the whole Christian faith is a fraudulent mix of old Egyptian and Perisan myths?
  3. Hi Ed, you don't have to wait 10 or 20 years. It's happening today all over the country, with Christians bombing abortion clinics and resorting to violent acts whenever it suits them. Not to paint all Christians with the same brush, Leigh from Austin is definitely one of the more tolerant Christians I've seen. But people that claim to be Christian certainly have a political agenda, and that agenda has no room for anyone who doesn't believe what they believe. It's a scary scenario for sure.
  4. What's the matter? Your all powerful Jesus couldn't get it right the first time? he has to come back and fix his mistakes? And Christians call Atheists stupid?
  5. Welcome to Taliban America! These are the people running your government right now. People who believe their superstition is superior to everyone else's superstition and are willing to throw away all reason to enforce their superstition as supreme. And the Taliban is alive and well in Kearny.
  6. Welcome to TALIBAN Kearny! I for one am not interested in being a disciple of your Jesus. I do not want my children hearing your Jesus fairy tales in history class. You can take your children to church and brainwash them with all your nonsense, and they can stand on street corners and pass out leaflets with their fables. But the minute you come into the school you are violating the rights of everyone in that building who wants an education, not a blind recitation of 2000 year old superstitions. But for your Kearny Christians who want to make disciples of all nations, you should take a cue from the Taliban. They want to make disciples of all nations too. One nation under God. Not YOUR God, not MY God. All Gods. Keep your Jesus stuffed under your mattress where it belongs.
  7. Actually, Christianity leads the world in killing people. Thousands more people died at the hands of Christians over the ages than from any other religion. Although the Muslims are catching up. Christianity has a proud heritage of mass slaughter. And going back to the "Old" testament, you can read lots more tales of God's love. Amelekite Babies anyone? So, before you start throwing stones, look in the mirror, and beg your Jesus for forgiveness. It sure beats living right the first time.
  8. Or the save the district a lot of money and grief and just have this guy resign. I'm sure the Westboro Baptist Church would love to have him.
  9. God is for the Colts. Isn't that obvious? God hates the losing team. He makes them play poorly.
  10. Please explain to me how Mr. P "paid for his beliefs." He still has his job, both at school and church. As far as I know he hasn't received any death threats or cold stares from fellow teachers. Is this more Christian "persecution" because someone called him on his beliefs?
  11. It means it's up to Paul whether he wants to sue the BOE to force the issue in open court. I for one would love to see the School Board sued over this, considering they didn't do anything to Rev. Pasceweicz. After all, if they support his teaching that dinosaurs were on Noah's Ark, then they obviously can't be trusted to run the schools. At best, we should vote out the entire school board next election like they did in Dover, PA when the Christian Taliban tried to force "Intelligent Design" into the curriculum.
  12. Congratulations moron, you've won. You've successfully silenced all rational thought. How typically Christian of you. Jesus would be proud by your actions and your childish name calling. You make a fine testimony of your religion and an excellent ambassador for the citizens of Kearny. Sleep well.
  13. And yet, you're willing to allow Pascewicz to continue teaching when he's emotionally harming all the children in that class. Spreading his version of a religion can do more harm than calling someone names. He condemmed a student to hell, for God's sake! That's what I don't understand about this. All parents, myself included, want to protect their kids. To me, that includes protection from people who claim their religious beliefs are superior to everyone else's and who are willing to teach their religious version of events rather than the state mandated curriculum. If the school board does keep to it's new guidelines against preaching in class, and does something to reprimand this guy, then there's hope and there's no need to record him again. But if he starts preaching again, there needs to be a way to deal with it and prove it. This wouldn't have come out had not a student recorded his nonsense.
  14. To Leigh: You can see how Bryan devolved into a name-calling moron after faced with intelligent discussion. This is what Kearny really is. A backwater Christian Taliban stronghold. Fret not, maybe God will send one his plagues and wipe out this idiocracy.
  15. Again, you're missing the facts. The Oil Sanctions against Iraq had one purpose - to prevent Iraq from making oil concessions to France and Russia. We wanted the oil in the US at favorable terms. People forget that Iraq is sitting on an estimated 3 BILLION barrels of oil in reserves, and we need that to fuel our economy. Saddam was going to make deals with Total - the French company - for leases rather than make deals with ExxonMobil and BP. BP, British Petroleum, used to be called Kuwaiti Oil. Saddam has no love for the British or Americans due to English interference in the region, hence his desire to make deals with France. Why was France so against the invasion? They wanted the oil leases. This is all documented. Especially the part of Cheney and his aides poring over oil maps of Iraq before the invasion, with the names of US oil companies strategically placed. The war has nothing to do with democracy, WMD, freedom, or any of that. They have oil, we need oil. The US supplies are dwindling, China is sucking up more and more of the world's supply and we need oil. Was it a coincidence that the POTUS and VPOTUS are both Texas Oil Men? Delude yourself with noble aims for the war, but it's all about oil. Both Saddam and Kim Jung Il were accused of harboring and producing WMD. Yet North Korea actually had them and we ignored it. Why? North Korea doesn't have any oil. Plain and simple.
  16. Maybe Bryan is Mr. P's ****** ********** *****. All the fundamentalists have one - they are all ****** ***********. Ted Haggard, Mark Foley, Jerry Falwell. Maybe that's why Bryan is defending him so vociferously and ignoring all the facts. KOTW Note: The above post was edited for content.
  17. WOW, I'm impressed. you actually read something other than the Bible! You do have half a brain. Funny how you point fingers at people who will keep their eyes closed, etc. There is a name for people like that - Christians. Not interested in learning about anything but the Bible and stuff that supports the bible.
  18. so God is always on the side of the Winners? How many times do you think General Lee called on Divine Intervention to help him keep his army from being destroyed by the Union? How many times do you think Saddam Hussein called on Divine Intervention to help him keep his army from being destroyed by the Americans? How many times do you think Hitler called on Divine Intervention to help him keep his army from being destroyed by the Allies? Just because a person is victorious doesn't mean they had divine inspiration and the losers didn't.
  19. Yes funny how chat boards can do that. For example, on the chat board "2smart4u" is a moron fundamentalist who can't put together two sentences. But in real life, he's probably a moron fundamentalist who can't put together two sentences.
  20. My point is that you claim that the president's actions have made the US and the world safer from terrorists. You claim that we should look to the fact that there haven't been any terrorist attacks in the US since 9/11. Which is true. But there weren't any attacks for 8 years before that either. Which means that Bush's actions really can't be judged at this point. But if you look at the rest of the world, terrorist attacks have happened with alarming frequency. At least one major attack on US interests every year since 9/11. Which means Bush's policies really aren't keeping Americans safer at all. And i commend you for asking the question. That's the first step to understanding. Rather than relying on the old tired fallacy that "The Bible Says it, I Believe it, and that settles it!" comments, you actually asked a question about something. congratulations, there is hope for you too.
  21. yes, they don't understand that people can be good without subscribing to the same superstitions they do.
  22. Wow, would you call your Lord and Savior a jackass because he could walk on water? More proof that Christians are just full of sh** about everything. OK, so you don't like the scripture I chose. How about this one instead. It's from Leviticus. According to this passage, in God's Word, we have to kill half the people in America. We are supposed to kill everyone who has cursed his father or mother, everyone who has committed adultery, and every homosexual. Now, when I bring this up to Christians, they don't like that one bit, and are quick to remind me that the "New" Convenant replaces many of these laws from God Himself. So, if this book, this Holy Bible, is the word of God, is it fair to say that God, the almighty king of the universe, changed his mind?
  23. that actually means that Baptists like to make it up as they go along. they have no guiding authority to keep them sane. they can pick and choose any part of the Bible they like and ignore the rest. Baptists are the worst group of Christians, and generally when I refer to "save us from Christians" I'm referring to Baptists and Pentacostals. You know, good, honest people like Ted Haggard and Pat Robertson and Tom DeLay and Mark Foley.
  24. There is hope after all for Kearny, NJ! In the Observer online today, School Board president Bernadette McDonald released comments about the Kearny Schools committment to separation of church and State. Her statement outlines new steps the school district will take to ensure that no other teacher can cross that line: Congratulations to Ms. McDonald and the Kearny School Board for bring Kearny back into the real world.
