Kearny On The Web prides itself on being the forum where people can come and have a discussion. This discussion on the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commision (PVSC) and the impact of former Governor Chris Christie had on employees who were caught up in the decision to downsize and/or fire people has allowed at least one person to vent their frustration. This person isn't a Loser as the above post states in not so nice language. We have allowed the post because the former employee of PVSC who has come to KOTW to vent deserves to know that despite the above post, the loser is Governor Chris Christie who had such great potential but squandered it. The opportunity to properly analyze and determine who at PVSC was working and who was simply a complete political hack was squandered. Christie fired employees who he said were political appointments (maybe they were) to then hire employees because of their political connections. The problem with the new employees was they had no experience in wastewater management.

The Kearny On The Web Forums had an issue with our Spam protection but it has now been fixed. You can now post and complete the picture and post.

Just a Note to those interested in searching KOTW forums.
The Search box is at the right side top of the forums. When you click on the Search box make sure to select to the left of the box "All Content" otherwise you will be search only the current topic you happen to be on. You can also go into Advanced Settings (last menu item when you open the box to the left of the Search box) and narrow down your search with specific forums etc.
Try it and leave us a comment on what you found.

As of today, KOTW has 94,923 posts. It's been almost 14 years since this new Message Board went live and there were 2 years of prior posts that were lost to history unless someone downloaded them and saved them. With all honesty, Facebook has stolen our thunder and also the lack of time to post articles on our main page and review of posts on a more frequent basis than once a day (sometimes we even fail that goal) has reduced the interaction on this Message Board.
This board is not going away. Don't worry. It will remain as the place where you can anonymously provide important information with no fear of direct retaliation. We edit when necessary using our own guidelines. Nothing on the internet is totally anonymous so be aware of that.
For those interested in reviewing old posts, you can search for them but make sure you expand the default time period so you get a complete search of keywords that you are looking for.
We are proud of our contribution to the West Hudson area. We'd like to think we keep people honest but maybe we are just kidding ourselves.
We are 5077 posts away from 100K so keep posting and maybe let others know of KOTW what we consider a treasure of information on Kearny, Harrison, East Newark and North Arlington.

Update on this issue: An update has been installed which now allows a Guest poster who forgot to enter a name in the Name field to enter a name after filling the Security puzzle. Please note that the Puzzle will not reappear unless it was done incorrectly. You can enter the Guest name and submit and it will be placed in the KOTW post review queue.
This resolves this issue. Thanking everyone for your patience.

KOTW has discovered an issue with Guest Posting which was caused by an update several weeks ago. The following is a temporary work around.
The issue is as follows: If you forget to put in a name in Guest Field and write your post and complete the Security puzzle, you will be prompted to enter a Guest Field name. The only problem is that the Security puzzle does not re-generate (appear again) and you will not be able to post since you need to successfully complete the puzzle before the post will be accepted. The Puzzle is necessary because of Spam bots which in years past attacked the board. Therefore, please make sure you complete the Guest Field name before writing your post. KOTW apologizes for this bug and the next update will correct this issue.

An upgrade to our message board caused users not to be able to post on the site. KOTW is now open to new posts.

KOTW has taken the unprecedented step of hiding a post from public view. The poster used the last name of a poster who resides in Harrison and who did not want his last name associated with the content of the post.
It should be noted that since KOTW allows anonymous posts it is not possible to trace beyond an IP address (which can be used by many individuals) the author of the initial post.

KOTW posted a note to the Post by "Mr. Garrido". Indicating that KOTW received an email indicating that a post was not written by Mr. Garrido of Harrison.
Please note since KOTW does not require registration the name of posters can be someone else than the name entered.

If this is the case because you took some heat for posting it you should not post ANY posts that accuses anyone of anything and makes references to anyone, their family members or friends with name calling or humiliation. With respect to the content of this thread, the initial post was allowed because Bernadette McDonald is an elected official. The veracity of the initial statement has been challenged. We have now allowed your initial post "Good Point. Happy New Year" and other posts which barely border on being additional content. As one of KOTW's fans pointed out years ago, you can always start your own Website and Discussion Board and post everything you want there.

As to the statement "when I tried to respond (always identifying myself) my comments were not reported." KOTW has not received an posts from Albert Cifelli to review for posting. KOTW's policy is to allow free speech and does monitor posts but our policy is to try to have every contribution posted. When necessary we will edit posts with asterisks and note that the post was edited by KOTW. We on occasion archive or delete messages we believe are too personal or egregious but first we try to edit portions of the post with asterisks noting the same.
