As far as I know both positions have not been filled. They are in the process of recommending a person for the Business Chair job and from what I understand, not the most or best qualified (what else if new)...but he is a MALE (3 years actual teaching in the classroom experience). I have been told that another teacher in that dept was passed up even though she has two masters (one in Business Ed and the other in Supervision), has about 16 years experience in Kearny and other districts (teaching at the jr. high, hs and college levels), and vast business experience. It's truly unfortunate for the children of Kearny...but that is standard operating procedure of the HS.

Taxpayers-- Unfortunately your tax dollars are not being used to pay for the best candidates in various positions in the schools. I have recently figured out that the administration, particularly those at the high school level, are afraid to hire or promote people they believe to be smarter then them...perferring to hire benign people that will be their puppets and not fight for the students. Most unfortunate for the town. Maybe this is why we can't retain any quality personnel in the district.
