Guest Patriot
When Obama was an Illinois state senator, he voted against a bill that would prohibit abortion doctors from murdering fetuses that were born alive when full-term and partial-birth abortions failed. For those defeatocrats who don't understand this, abortion doctors abort full-term (those babies capable of living outside the womb) fetuses while still in the womb. Sometimes the fetuses (babies) will spontaneously deliver before the doctor can kill them. The bill was designed to prohibit these doctors /butchers from killing these babies once they're born. This is the bill that Obama voted against. Personally, I have a hard time understanding how any person with a conscience, whether you're pro-choice or pro-life, could support this practice. Once a fetus is delivered alive it is a baby, a child and to destroy him or her is not an abortion, it's murder. Behind the nice smile this is a guy that's morally bankrupt. That's because the bill was sneakily worded in such a way that it would make all abortions illegal. Nice try, but this is another failed smear. It's really pathetic that you have to lie in order to make a statement.

Guest *Autonomous*
Don't take my word for it, it's fully verifiable on the net. Perhaps you should read an actual news story rather than a bunch of whacko bloggers. This was typical dirty politics-by including a provision that the majority would support, the Republicans can now attack Obama for "voting against it." It is the same thing that they did with the Patriot Act-when some of the more reasonable Congresscritters spoke out against the Act, the noise machine immediately said "they don't want to help the victims of 9/11!" I'd bet a doughnut that you agreed with them then too. Open your eyes, you naive sheep.

Guest Guest
QUOTE (Guest @ Jun 29 2008, 10:12 PM) I have a hard time understanding why you think anyone would take your word for any of this. Don't take my word for it, it's fully verifiable on the net. So is the co-existence of human beings and dinosaurs, if you trust those sources. You can "verify" a great many things on the Internet if you've made up your mind in advance what you want to believe - which is exactly what you've done, and all you've done. You're missing the point. You have made it abundantly clear that you have no regard for the truth. So when you write something, it's possible that you might have made a mistake and written something that's actually true, but there's no reason for anyone to think so, or to waste time checking out yet another one of your ideologically-driven claims. This thread is hilarious. Patriot posts a factually accurate statement on Obama voting against the "Save The Babies Bill" in Illinois, and every loony leftist covers their eyes and says "it ain't true, it ain't true, liar, liar, liar, liar". Sorry goofballs, covering your eyes won't change the facts, your hero is a far left puke that's beholding to the radical wing of the defeatocrats. And he 'll vote the way he's told to. Guest Guest
PatRat does a remarkably effective job of fooloing himself. Patriot is correct. Simply Google: "Save the Babies Bill in Illinois Senate". Barack Obama voted against the bill that was proposed to prevent abortion doctors from murdering babies that survived abortions. This is the guy that democrats want to be president.

Hey stupid, maybe you didn't notice all of the debunking that followed that douche's post, but here's a summary again. Obama voted against the bill because it was worded in a sneaky way that would make all abortions illegal. Unfortunately for you, he isn't as gullible as "Sunni and Shia can get along" and "we will be greeted as liberators" McCain.
Guest Guest
Patriot is correct. Simply Google: "Save the Babies Bill in Illinois Senate". Barack Obama voted against the bill that was proposed to prevent abortion doctors from murdering babies that survived abortions. This is the guy that democrats want to be president. As usual, Patriot is dead wrong. I Googled "Save the Babies Bill in Illinois Senate." The first three hits were from ultra-right-wing sources that made wild accusations without actually describing the legislation. However, the fourth hit was from a reputable newspaper, the Chicago Tribune, which reported as follows. "And nothing in the related legislation that has repeatedly failed in the Illinois legislature--and that has been opposed by pro-choice and civil rights groups and nearly all Democratic lawmakers--would change that. "Those bills were attempts to bypass court rulings and mandate lifesaving measures for any aborted fetus that has a beating heart, pulsating umbilical cord or movement of voluntary muscles. "Such a fetus would be deemed 'born alive' and granted full human rights under the rejected legislation. "Yet the definition pretty much covers 'any fetus at any stage of development, including before viability,' noted the Illinois State Medical Society in a memorandum opposing the 2002 legislation on grounds that 'medical practice and standard of care issues should not be legislated.' The proposed laws also required doctors performing abortions in which the fetus might fall under this expanded definition of 'born alive' to have a second doctor on hand to 'assess the child's viability and provide medical care.'" So the proposed legislation was the usual radical right-wing shell game of assigned a cozy name to a radical proposal that goes far beyond what any of Obama's critics want to talk about. Obama did exactly the right thing in opposing it.

You are correct 2smart4u-this thread is hilarious. After all, every post that mindlessly agrees with Patriot is oddly formatted like this- you'd think you'd be smart enough to fix the problem so that it wouldn't be quite so obvious that you are simply agreeing with yourself to make it sound like there are several of you. I'm not denying that he voted against the bill-but you aren't telling the whole story either are you? The bill did more than what you claim-as Guest (in post #2) and Autonomous pointed out already.
