They can't have it both ways.

So some people are upset about some of the topics here. For years, some "Christians" in this town have lorded it over everyone else, about how they are 90% of the population in Kearny, so we have to do things their way. That would be true for many things but not for religion. Religion is an individual and personal right, which is not decided by majority vote.

But hey, some of you want religion out there, now it's out there. Don't blame people for fighting back and calling bullshit not only on what you're doing but on the story and some of the ideas behind it. It's quite remarkable that they want people to honor their holidays above all the others, and swear on their Bible but absolutely refuse to discuss what's actually in it.

I've never met even one person who really believed everything in the Bible. So how about we can the crap about that being the revealed Word of God and just focus on living together with mutual respect all around.

There's that anger and hostility again. What is it with atheists? If you want to believe in Mother Nature or nothing at all, that's fine. If you want to believe your ancestor was an ameba that crawled out of a swamp, that's also fine. But you put up billboards at Christmas mocking Christmas and sue school boards over prayer. It seems to me your anger and hostility is caused by an inner conflict, doubting your own professed beliefs of atheism.

Sometimes honesty is more than we want, or can handle. Honesty takes work. Honesty can require us to do things we would rather not do. Honesty can require us to face things we would rather not face.

What is it with you, judging the inner lives of people you don't even know?

Aside from that, your complaint seems to be that people are concerned about an entire society taking a myth as fact, and that people insist that the law be followed.

Where's the hostility? Maybe you should look in the mirror.

Some so-called Christians should read their Bible - you know, that collection of ancient writings they claim to believe in.
