Guest Loki
So the rumor is, our Business Administrator just got himself a 15% raise over three years. The man has been here, what 6 or 7 years, how many more things could there be in this town for him to "fix".

Guest Still Waiting
YES!!!! There are town workers who are still working without contracts or raises for a few years now, and they are the ones who do the most work.
Guest BA a JOKE
YES!!!! There are town workers who are still working without contracts or raises for a few years now, and they are the ones who do the most work. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> DONT FORGET As the administrator HE approves all the raises. Amazing how someone who signs a contract to do a job for set number of years is able to have it with an opening which allows him to give Head of Departments raises (which they deserve) but includes himself as one of them. SCAM to the MAX Huh? Or just poor judgement by Mayor and Council for allowing this. And lets force good people from other positions so he can have two paying positions ... ALL in office need to be replaced and have new blood who are qualified to redo this system that is not helping this town.

Why would you want to keep this quiet. The man should be congratulated for his good fortune. It pays to know influential people, like himself. Maybe he should re-evaluate his performance. I would think he thinks better of himself, why he's probably worth 6 or 7% more each year. After all, look what he;s done for the town............................................................................ ....................................................................sorry, lost my head, what was I thinking. Oh wait, that would mean that a lot of town workers would have to actually GIVE BACK money to the taxpayers. Nevermind.
Guest Guest
Great - let's make it merit based! Oh wait, that would mean that a lot of town workers would have to actually GIVE BACK money to the taxpayers. Nevermind. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wow..you're right.. It's the Town Worker's salaries that are driving the taxes up.. the fact that the Board of Ed eats up FIFTY PERCENT of the tax revenues..has NOTHING to do with it..the fact that the County Govt takes THIRTY PERCENT of the tax revenues has Nothing to do with it...you're right that portion of the TWENTY PERCENT of your property taxes that actually STAYS in town, to pay the Police, Fire, and Town Worker's salaries is exactly what is bankrupting everything. Try doing the numbers yourself, and seeing JUST how much you pay per year in salaries for the different departments..you might be surprised that <Gasp> the politicians might be blaming the wrong people for your tax woes. Oh, and just for the record, and NOT factoring in any business taxes or ratables, but someone paying $10K in property taxes pays about $150.00 each per year for the Police and Fire Depts for salaries for ALL of the officers and ff's, and maybe another $300 for the rest of the town workers.
