There are some scraggly looking people ALL over town in front of ALL the bars, from Harrison Ave all the way up to Kearny. Before the smoking law, they were all nice and hidden, now we have them in full view. What's more hazardous to the health, them smoking or us having to looking at these scraggily drunks every time they need a smoke!!??

Our former mayor gave that choice to several municipal employees, including a few top managers and a leading councilman. Most of them chose treatment, rather than a forced resignation or firing. Oh wait, I forgot, just because this guy works for the town he's not permitted to actually HAVE a life outside of his employment. If someone believes he is involved in narcotics THEN HAVE THE B@@LS to make the acusation to his Department... He'll be sent for a drug test, and if he comes back clean..well..then it would just S**K to be the accuser wouldnt it?? but no..you folks will hide behind your keyboards and snipe from behind his back. F'n Cowards, the lot of you.
Guest Guest_OBSERVER_*
I THINK ITS TIME FOR THE CHIEF DO DO HIS DUTY AND HAVE A RANDOM DRUG TEST SCHEDULED. IT'S IN THE RULES AND REGULATIONS AND FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE R & R CALLS FOR DISCIPLINARY ACTION UNDER NON-FEASANCE.

Come down to the Gardens and Courts and see how the kids love and trust him, see how involved he is with the children in this community. Give him some credit for staying, living and working in the town he was raised in, at least he gives a sh&t which is more then I can say for some of the others. The officer you mentioned happens to be one of the best in this town so stop trashing him, he is entitled to go out for a drink after he is off duty, if you had a brain or any knowledge of what really goes on in this town you would need to sit and relax too. Unless it isn't true about him? Our police should be an example to our youth in town, especially to the ones with no father around to emulate and learn from. If this cop or any other did any drugs, he could be mentor to the kids on how not to get mixed up with drugs, since quitting is difficult, and serving as an example of "been there', "done it" and "had the courage to quit". He is very involved with the children in this town and will do anything to help someone. This stuff should not be allowed to be posted it is slander in my opinion and I can also assure you that he would not have a problem with a urine or a blood test he takes pride in his job and does it well. Why don't you direct your negative remarks to someone who at least deserves it.

Its disgusting that the WebMaster allows this shit to be posted. I understand all about free speech, but this is total BS. Officers are picked randomly by a computer. A PO can be using drugs and not be chosen to take a random drug test. He can, be given a drug test if the PD established probable cause. If he is found to be using drugs, the punishment is dismissal. There are no rehab for Officers who use drugs. They swear to uphold the law and using drugs is a violation of their oath and the criminal law.
