It's time for the entire population of this nation to wake up. The govt. wants to take away our mortgage deduction. This is insane. How much money do they need? We the people should be the ones to vote on tax increases not the politicians. Maybe they could cut some things like the money we spend on the UN for instance. Or their barber shop. how about they take a cut in pay, or better yet they work for nothing. When is enough enough? These guys are going to make us tax poor. It has to stop. What do you think? I'm pissed!

PS. Remember when we could write off credit card interest. How much would you get back if you could do that now? We can thank Bradly and Rostenkosy for that.

Are the credit card companies regulated because they charge interest that makes it impossible for some people to ever get out of debt. Where is the tax payers lobby in Washington. We pay enough!

Wrong, wrong, wrong, Chicken Little!!

These are only some of the recommendations of a Presidential Advisory Panel on Federal Tax Reform. Not the President. Not the Senate or Assembly. Not even the Treasury Dept. In the article, which can be pulled up from the Star Ledger of November 2, 2005, it is stated that, "Specifically, the panel said the mortgage interest deduction should be replaced with a credit worth 15 percent of mortgage interest paid, to spread the benefit to more homeowners of modest incomes".

It then continues with other tax changes, which if imposed, would benefit most of us. You, however, neglected to mention any of them. One, "Taxpayers could purchase health insurance using untaxed money up to about $5,000 for an individual and $11,500 for a family", would be a benefit we do not have at this time.

It also goes on to say, " Under one plan, individuals would pay no tax on dividends paid by U.S. companies and exclude 75 percent of their capital gains from taxation". That one's a major money saver if you are an investor.

In the future, if you want to tell a story, please tell the WHOLE story.:rolleyes:;)
