Why not have a private company remove the snow and leaves, And then the town can layoff some people and save alot of tax payer dollars, And get the job done right. Half of the dpw has been given to contractors, Like Garbage, Recycling, Most of the shade tree, etc. People will be hurt to lose there jobs, They will recover. It is the members of cs11 that made this problem, Now the town can clean it up. As a resident of this town, Things are going get worst, you have a multi- Million dollar operation at the Kearny DPW for what? One more item is Kearny Recreation dept, Another waste. People picking up coffee cups off the ground for $55,000. Mayor Santos and council there still is time, Put bids out for leaves and snow, Before season arrives, So we can have a cleaner town. To be at the mercy of a contractor is'nt smart. Keep in mind they cost money as well. What needs to be done is in the hands of supervision. Poor performance means poor supervisors. Leaves would be a minor expense, Maybe there would be no layoff. Leaves are a major problem in Kearny, Town has no system in removing leaves. This job should be left up to contractors, They have the skill and the knowledge to get the job done. Also the town has ageing equiptment that should be junked before someone get's hurt or killed. If a few people lose there jobs who cares. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> how about all the other pork jobs in town? like in the sports teaching coaching that are not under the b.o.e and part of reg phs ed in school!where is all the outside money going? how about an audit? has it ever happened?how many unessary sports teachers do you have?what are the real " number of kids doing this stuff ?is it worth it?look and see kearny has way to much pork!!!!!
