The tree-lighting ceremony scheduled for Dec. 4 between 4:30 and 6 p.m. will include entertainers, vendors and a visit from Santa.
The tree, which came from Muncy, Pa., is several feet taller than the one standing in New York's Rockefeller Center. It was hoisted into place Wednesday and will be decorated with 20,000 lights.
An 86-foot Norwegian spruce tree hung with thousands of lights will tower over Military Park this holiday season as the city holds its first tree-lighting celebration since 2000.
Cross over the Bridge Street Bridge and go up to Broad Street and make a left. Military Park is located between Broad Street and Park Place. Parking is available in the Military Park Parking Deck.
