Homeless in Harrison

Homelessness in Harrison seems  to be at an all time high, yet everyday many of us just walk on by without even  a second though about it. A few nights ago, on one of the coldest nights of the year I witnessed a woman in a doorway on Harrison Avenue, she was freezing, she didn’t ask for Money or Food, she just wanted a blanket. I went home and later returned with a blanket, some food, and two sweatshirts.  With Thanksgiving around the corner and the colder weather we should think more about the less fortunate. Why hasn’t the Mayor and Council addressed this issue?  What about the churches in town? And empty School or a Church basement could house these people for the Winter.

There's plenty of warm beds and a kitchen at the Firehouse. The fearless Firefighters can actually work while they are being paid instead of sleeping, watching TV and cooking on the taxpayers dime. It's a place that can be used immediately for freezing families out in the street. Stop pretending that you care about cold or hungry women and children in the street when this cruelty can be stopped tomorrow. You  care more about the babies at the Firehouse being pampered and getting sleep in order to work their other jobs than helping anyone. The Firefighters could ask for this but they will NEVER sacrife their entitled lifestyle! You are the worst kind of hypocrites in society! You're empty words help no one. Stop putting yourself on the back unless you have a better suggestion.

There's no end to Barneys jealousy and infatuation with firefighters.  I hope you had a great Thanksgiving with plenty of crow to eat, Manga Barney

The Town of Harrison already has a  taxpayer funded shelter with warm beds, a kitchen, couches, dartboards, a weight room, televisions, its own playground and many other high end amenties. It's the Harrison Firehouse! Don't believe that? Go there yourself and see! You are allowed to go in as taxpayers of Harrison 24/7 to see how your money is being spent! Don't let the heroes intimidate you or lock the door on you! It won't cost the taxpayers an extra penny to use!! So what's missing? Here's a thought: It's missing hungry, cold and neglected women and children freezing in the street while privileged white males making in excess of $100,00.00 a year or about $75 an hour sleep to go to their primary job which is NOT being a Harrison Firefighter. Some even go straight from the Firehouse to their OTHER PAID HARRISON JOB! IT'S A F**KING SHAME!!
