The town council continues to spend the residents money like a drunken sailor while property taxes are hitting historic highs. The School Administration salaries are grossly inflated for such a small student population. Politically connected cronies are getting rich while providing a mediocre educational experience. A loss of Abbott District funds will be the death blow for every residents already dire financial situation. The time for change is now! The seldom seen and not necessarily needed Harrison Fire Department has 29 members. There are 12  Captains and Lieutenants to supervise 17 Firefighters. What is the rationale for this arrangement? It is an outrage! The HFD does not provide ambulance service and is an absolute waste of $3.3 million dollars a year. It's time to disband the HFD cesspool of patronage and nepotism! Public safety is perilous at this point in time given the bare bones Police Department. How many Officers are available at any given time 24/7 with only ** Officers by years end? Those numbers are a criminals best friend. Cameras provide a false sense of security. I've never seen a camera come to someone's aid while they are under attack by a violent thug. A lot needs to change starting at the top.

i  totally agree  with  the poster.  how many years of   B S  can people take ?      you have   bloated salaries,  people  coming back for other town jobs ,after they  retired ,      jobs    handed to people, then they walk around like their better than everyone else !     citizens of harrison....wake up !    our fire, and police deprtments are  decimated !     you,and your loved ones lives are at risk here  !      even the  town services are    questionable ?       get off your ass, and vote them out  !

So you want more cops and firemen. Who is going to pay for them? Your taxes are already high. On the PD, you have too many supervisors.  Not enough Patrolman to do the job. Instead of hiring a civilian to be the Chief's adminstrative ass't at a lower salary, they promote someone to Lt who now does the Chief's clerical work..You have ** officers minus ** supervisors which leaves ** Patrolman for patrol.  1 Lt and 2 Sgts are retiring by the end of the year Replace them with Patrolman.

The salaries for many of the educators, town employees and especially those that retire and come back to collect a paycheck for another job is a disgrace!  Yes many of them walk around town with the sense of self entitlement.  Here is one for you, you make enough money to enjoy living in a nicer area why do you stay in Harrison, I will answer that - because if you moved your self entitled a$$ out of town you would be a nobody, your name and connections would mean NOTHING!!!!  Don't come back on here posting how you love Harrison, its' a great town and all that jazz.  Many of the current and past board members had so much "faith" in the school system that they made decisions for but yet they choose to send their kids to private school............hmmm why is that
