How sad is this - Harrison is rated one of the worst school districts in the state of NJ - the state will be giving the Board of Ed money for what, where will that money go - will it actually go to improving the education in our town or will it go in someone's pocket? I say the town should STOP hiring so and so's daughter, neice, nephew, uncle, brother and cousins and start hiring qualified teachers. Once again it proves that those in our school systems would not send their own children to the Harrison public schools but in the meantime they are making a fortune off of decision making on the best interest of the children - what a joke. Board of Ed members should be voted in not hand picked like the rest of the ass kissers - if you believe in the system send your own damn kid to the school - if you don't believe step aside let a parent who has a real interest take control - but no you wouldn't let that happen - then you wouldn't be getting the $$$

The problem with the schools in Harrison is the "OLD ADMINISTRATION" who refuse to come out of their office and do their jobs correctly. In Harrison you are punished for doing your job. The administration does nothing but collect fat checks, the kids are not of concern to them. There are many teachers in Harrison who do a great job with what they have. The key to a good school system is parents/teachers/administrators working together.

ALSO WHAT ABOUT THE HAIR STYLES? THE BOYS LOOK LIKE GIRLS WITH OBESE CLOTHING. THE GIRLS LOOK LIKE THEY JUST GOT OFF WALKING THE STREETS.

LET'S NOT EVEN BEGIN TO DISCUSS WHAT COMES OUT OF THEIR MOUTHS.

NO RESPECT,MORALS,FAMILY VALUES FOUND THERE!

YET WE CATER TO THEM BY ALLOWING SUCH CRAP TO ATTEND OUR SCHOOL,YES OUR SCHOOL,TAX PAYING RESIDENTS. WHY?

The porblem is you have parents defending the kids and asministrators backing down to parents. Staff trying to be friends instead of being teachers, and a Mayor who lets the garbage rule the schools. Grow a set of balls and start standing by your rules. The school board should clean house. Let the teachers teach get rid of the crap that disrupts the classes and scores will go up. Grt some real principal's who can run the schools not baby-sit!!!!

Don't judge the book by the cover because there are some good kids still left in Harrison High. Just look who are on the honor roll and you can find them.

And citizens say that you cannot receive a proper education from Harrison High. It is all what the student puts into it. If the student shows no interest then the teacher does not show an interest in teaching that student, and they focus on the students who are actually paying attention.

Unfortunately, teachers are supposed to teach ALL of the students. Part of the job is figuring out a way to connect with as many students as possible, especially the kids that don't show interest or aptitude. If only the students showing an interest should be taught, just hand out the text books and let them figure it out for themselves.

There are some great teachers out there and maybe you shouldn't be judging based solely on grades. Sometimes getting these kids to show up is winning the battle; and with each battle won, the possibility to win the war increases.
