Elected Board of Education

It's time to get rid of the political hacks on the Board of Ed and replace them with an elected Board. The election can be held in November at the same time as the General Election so it won't cost any more money. The appointed board are there because of political ties with the Mayor and Council. The recent appointment of James Doran as Director of Personnel/Human resources at a salary of $200,000 is an example of how they waste money.

The Governor of NJ has been notified about this waste of NJ Taxpayers money as Harrison is a special needs district which gets extra money from the state which should be used for the kids education and not for the hiring of politicians.

If there was an elected BOE there would never have been an illegal secret meeting which Fife was part of that cost taxpayers and really really hurt the kids education. This will come out before the end of setember.Maybe even a news conference with tv cameras.

I hope I'm there when they cart these butt holes away ! fife for mayor ? another joke ! he's a goon for doran, and his puppets ! how about the intimidation, threaths, and the harassment to certain people ?

I agree. If an elected Board were to occur, much of the abuse would stop...

.

You think so? You ever read Kearny's blog? Elected and political and crazy! But if you feel that way get it on the ballot and let people vote on it. I would be happy to vote for it! Good luck

Guest You Know Who,

The Harrison Education Union met with officials and got no where. There's no money for the teachers yet the happy guy can get a made up job for $200,000.

At least in Kearny there is opposition and debate. In Harrison it’s a rubber stamp, without debate and is costing the taxpayers a bundle, and has nothing to do with child instruction. It is strictly a piggy bank for politicians.

And in Kearny, it

s ALSO Costing a Bundle with each successive "Regime" (for want of a better term) Undoing whatever the previous ones did....while it isnt a Piggy Bank for the politicians, they DO stick their fingers in, even though they are not supposed to, and it ends up being a Jobs Program for relatives.

Guest NJ Taxpayer

Looks like Doran is the most unpopular resident of Harrison just looking at the negative comments being made about him.

The medium income in Harrison is $41,000, yet he was being paid $242,000 in a small school district while the State put a cap on Supt.'s pay for Harrison's size at 157,000. The Assistant Supt. is making 222,000. The NJ taxpayer is being screwed because extra money is given to Harrison as a special needs district.

How long will the Governor allow this to continue?
