People who believe in a traditional concept of God - a conscious supreme being who created everything - are accustomed to getting a free social ride, where no one questions them. We can, and must, live with that insofar as people keep their private beliefs private. When some people start using their unsubstantiated ("faith based") beliefs to counter solid science or as an excuse to beat up on people whose lifestyles do not conform to their religious beliefs (like the LGBT community, or non-theists for that matter), they cross a very important line. Finally and at long last, we may have arrived at a point where society at large won't put up with it any more. I hope this works out so that religious beliefs can be given the widest latitude. But we're kidding ourselves if we think these battles are going to be resolved without having to decide which interests are more important than others.

Well since atheists are an extreme minority, their interests really don't matter one iota. My advice to atheists is to live your barren and lonely lives in

your barren and lonely world and STFU.

Atheists should read Bill O'Reilly's book "Killing Jesus". It might begin to open your eyes.

Since republicans are an "extreme minority" in Kearny, shouldn't you STFU in accordance with your own twisted logic?
