Guest Guest Posted January 27, 2004 Report Share Posted January 27, 2004 Years ago, the Kearny Police Dept. did handle the ambulances and very well too.Then it becamse what they felt was a burden and the volunteer squad was started; they those folks realized getting paid for extra work was better;and the changes and infighting began; think it worked better when the town handled the money through the Police. but if you really think about it..who in this day and age has time to volunteer time when we are all tied down to our real full time jobs or two jobs.
