A big topic of discussion these days is municipal and BOE $$$ waste. Why are we paying an A.D. at KHS $150,000? And why does he have TWO (2) secretaries? for instance the A.D. at a neighboring school only makes $75,000 (that's half folks!) and has no (ZERO) secretaries. And Kearny Sports has never been worse, turnout is extremely low and morale among coaches is dreadful. Something must be done! This is directly on the BOE, and changes are in order, and the first place to save money is in the salaries of the 4 VP's at the High School. Y are there so many VP's?

The Super has a brand new job opening.....Director of Curriculum for grades 6-12. Does this mean that our existing VP in charge of curriculum Mr. Barbone is being released? or what will he do when the new person is hired to do what he use to do?

Here is another great question. Why are we paying a huge salary for someone to take attendance? And if we are talking about discipline also, we would be much better off with a retired police officer in the building than the current V.P.

The title of Vice Principal of athletics should be reduced to Athletic Director with a lower salary. Secondly, if a new position of Director of Curriculum 6-12 is being established, then elminate the position of Vice Principal of Curriculum. Thus, leaving 1 Principal and 1 Vice Principal to run the school like in the elementary schools.

well they beat a Bernards team 2-0 that lost a very close game to #2 in the state Pingry by a score of 2-1 hows that. Who Have the boys played that have competed on that level, North Bergen?

The latest actions of the ******** ******** against the Football team warrant removal. First he moves the Frosh to Vets Field after somehow not knowing when SAT's were. He even offered to paly a game without officials. I am sure the BOE would have enjoyed those lawsuits. Then he has the JV go away to Hawthorne even with kids hurt as a favor to Mr Mooney, not playing the game at home because he didnt want to change soccer. When does this all end? Cant we just award him his pension and move on with a younger, more athlete friendly ****?

Football losing yet again. other than a bowling championship, no section titles in any sport the past 5 years. Baseball is a disaster. Sports that traditionally did well at KHS like Soccer and Baseball both are at a new low. No school spirit, no attendence at games. Yes, Kearny sports may be at a low point but why can't you focus on anything positive. It wasn't a first round loss for boys varsity, it was second round. But they both won county titles, doesn't that count for anything? Football team losing again, when was the last time they had a 4-5 record?? They should be proud of that record. A lot of freshmen quit football because the coaches had no respect for these kids who busted their asses everyday for them. The kids are ineligible because they are failing their classes, that's their own fault. They get kicked out of school or get suspended because why, the VP of Discipline cut class, or got into fights?? I don't think so. Maybe Kearny does need change, maybe new VP's will help. But what if it doesn't? Who do you blame then? You think if we get new VP's the sports programs will get better right away? When they do well, they get praise, when they don't, the program S**ks. I only make it to one or two football games a year but I have to tell you, the game I did make it to this year, I was very impressed with the offensive play calling and the execution of those plays by Kearny's players. It's the first time in twenty years that it's not the same old thing. Team appeared to we well disciplined. I don't know where this new head coach came from but he is running the option and making the offense productive and exciting to watch. I believe that if this guy stays with the program and builds on what he has done this year, Kearny is going to see the program turn around and bring that football spirit back to the school and the community. Keep up the good work coach and congratulations to the players and the entire coaching staff for a great season.

Yes, Kearny Sports can be atributed to the A.D. in particular, and the V.P. of Discipline also has a lot to do with it. Forget about the fact that these 2 are over-paid in a time when we should be slashing payroll. County titles in Hudson County for soccer is not that big a deal for the storied Kearny Soccer Program, and the fact that u r kibitzing between first and second round losses for the Boys shows how much the soccer program has dropped. Some feel the A.D. even wants this as it makes him look like an even more legendary coach. Yes, Football at 4-5 would be an improvement, but they would have done that last year if it wasn't for the administration's vendetta, and they could have been even better if the A.D. has been wiser in the crossover pick-ups on the football schedule. the A.D. should have programs and checks & Balances in place to monitor the grades of potential athletes. BTW, have you seen the recent grades of our district and particularly the HS? FAILING across the board.We do need change, and immediately. But the BOE is more concerned about scratching each other's back instead of what is best for the kids. I mean, the V.P. of Discipline is seen at every away game driving to the games with a BOE member, making sure he keeps his gravy train job. When does this all get corrected?

That is ABSURD!!! He does not deserve such a high salary, and Kearny Sports has gone downhill ever since he became A.D. To top it all off he has not one but TWO secretaries at $40,873!!! Sports at Kearny is at a new low. Forget about the lack of championships, winning records, etc. The real barometer is the low participation numbers. All this for an A.D. who makes as much as most principals in other districts. End this now.
