President Obama merely said that nothing was off the table as far as remedies for the ailing economy, which let us not forget, he inherited from the Bush Administration.

VAT is a complicated process whereby assessments are added at various levels in a product's manufacturing life. Most retailers will pass the increase along to the buyer. The smart ones will absorb the increase. When VAT was utilized in some European countries, consumers boycotted the retailers and the products that became too costly and retailers took the hint.

He's been in office for less than half a term and already things are turning around: the stock market has rebounded big time, the housing market had terrific numbers this week, GM has rehired thousands of its employees, all but Chrysler and CitiBank have either paid back the bailout money or are on schedule to pay back in a timely manner, banking reform is being discussed and of course, (I know you don't like to hear this.) HEALTH CARE REFORM PASSED.
