Nj Transit Hearing

So next week is the NJ Transit Public Hearing. NJ Transit took out the train tracks and our Mayor and Council let them do it and did not sue them. That Train Company Guy sues and the Town joins the suit and the Train Company Guy settles for a hearing in Kearny. What a lame settlement? Either they held public meetings or didn't they? Why would a judge accept such a settlement? Why would the Mayor and Council accept such a settlement? How is holding a public meeting (after the fact: they removed the tracks already) going to put the tracks back in Town that were removed by NJTransit. NJ Transit has no respect for the Town of Kearny and is laughing at its residents. The Train Company Guy must have cut a side deal with NJ Transit and the Mayor and Council are so stupid that they accepted a public hearing instead of a decision from the Judge. We get 3 hours next week to tell them what?

Well the people who work in hoboken or the city hate it and the people who live along the tracks must be loving it.

In neighboring Kearny, meanwhile, Mayor Alberto Santos — who was on hand for last week’s ceremony in Harrison — said his town is engaged in “long-range planning to increase our mass transit options in terms of bus routes.”

Prospects for revived rail connections appear dim, he said.

Quote from Observer article on opening of the new Path building and platform in Harrison.

Mayor if you think it won't happen, it won't.  You settled last time in 2004 and got nothing.  You need to go back to practicing law and give up on being a leader of Kearny.

Agreed! Mayor Santos needs to step down.
