Strife767
What if I don't want to have a merry christmas. It is a waste of money and the kids don't need anymore toys. I hate christmas. the only ones it is for is the stores selling crap you don't need. 78390 I'm having a hard time understand what this post has to do with the specific post you replied to. Also, I'd still have an enjoyable holiday without any of the commercialism. *shrug*
Strife767
Strife get a LIFE YOU ASSHOLE!GO DROWN YOURSELF. 78315 Who needs to get a life? Let's review: A. Someone who wants to wish everyone a happy holiday (if any) no matter what it may be B. Someone who responds to this sentiment by calling person A an asshole and telling that person to commit suicide I think the answer is quite clear. Of course, putting this together with the accusation earlier in the thread that atheists are hateful just makes it more ironic and humorous. You really ought to work on that, guest. Guest Guest
No...... if you read my post verrrry carefully, you'll see I said "atheist". Duh. 78415 Jews don't wish people Merry Christmas. If you read your own post verrrry carefully, you said: If you're a christian, it's "Merry Christmas". If you're an atheist, it's "HappyHolidays", "Season's Greetings", "Happy Winter Holiday" or some other lame phrase. 'Lame phrase' refers to the same greetings a Jew would make, not to 'atheist.' Duh. Guest Guest
The radical left atheists want Christmas out of our lives. These pathetic creatures are so full of hate, it bothers them to see christians celebrating  the birth of Jesus. "Happy Holidays" is the atheist greeting which all  christians should reject. 78257 We're not radical, and most of us aren't atheists. We just want you to stop shoving your views down everyone else's throats.

speedy1
This is just the kind of response I did not ask for. What happened to you people, that you can't just wish someone "Happy Holiday"? I bet you would find a problem wishing someone to "Have a nice day". I said it that way, because I have friends in many faiths, and who don't have any religious beliefs, it doesn't make them a bad person. Like I said, "religion is a private matter". So to those of you that don't like Christmas, couldn't care less or whatever your problem is, "Have a nice day!". And to those of you who celebrate, again "Happy Holiday"
Guest Guest
Gee, I wonder who this is? Should Jews, Muslims, and every other faith reject it too? 78338 As a Christian, I always appreciate when someone recognizes my Christianity and wishes me a "Merry Christmas". My Jewish friends are exceptional at this. In turn, I try to recognize their beliefs and wish them "Happy Hannukah" (and tend to pay attention to their much larger holidays). Happy Holidays is more of a generic phrase that I appreciate from strangers (or those who are unsure of which holiday I celebrate). It is not as personal as someone wishing me a Merry Christmas, but it is certainly a polite and courteous thing to say. A couple of years ago, there was a major push to replace "Happy Holidays" with "Season's Best". This was done out of concern of offending those who do not celebrate any holidays at this time of year. I find this rather amusing because my agnostic and atheist friends seem to care the LEAST about what greeting they are offered at this time of year. I would love it if we can all stop tap dancing around this thing. Saying Merry Christmas to a colleague doesn't make anyone less of a Jew, Muslim, Hindu, etc. Likewise, my wishing my Jewish friends a Happy Hannukah, joyous Kwanzaa or taking them out to lunch after Eid doesn't diminish my beliefs in the least. Maybe if we could all stop worrying about how NOT to offend people, and start worrying about getting close enough to know and understand others' beliefs, and wish them happiness in celebrating those beliefs, maybe we'd all be much better off. I do mind it when it's done the way some people are now doing it here, as an attempt to force it on others. I also mind it when it's done assuming that everyone should share the religious beliefs of the person saying it. Speedy set exactly the right tone, but some people couldn't have it and so they had to disrupt it to promote their personal views. It's sad that religion divides people this way. What it tells me is that they are not truly practicing religion, because the essence of religion should be that it brings everyone together. Don't let it bother you, Speedy. Enjoy the day. Strife767
the reason for the season JESUS CHRIST. Even though people were celebrating this time of year many centuries before Christianity existed? Hmmm... Not following your logic there. Happy holidays! Guest Guest
If you were a Jew which obviously you're not, you would know it is Happy Hannukah. 78525 Actually I am. I wish people Happy Holidays unless I know what religion they are. I think anyone who gets upset because someone wishes them a Merry Christmas is an idiot. However, anyone who gets angry because someone says Happy Holidays instead is also an idiot. The problem is that the whole 'War on Christmas' thing isn't about the godly vs. the godless, it is about Christian dominionism. Many people of other faiths prefer a neutral greeting-that doesn't make us godless.

That's what you "christians" fail to understand. You think every living soul has to be of the same mindset as you. Do you posses the capacity to accept reality?
