Guest Guest_Taxpayer_*
Maybe, and that's fine, but the bulk of the money is in police and fire salaries. 70114 At least it would be a start....
Guest Guest
Here is what Paul had to say about the doctor: "defendant doctor on the stand for cross-examination. He is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and maternal-fetal (high-risk pregnancy) specialist with a fifty-page-plus curriculum vitae and an international reputation. He is exceptionally intelligent and well-qualified, not to mention personable and charming," What more do you want to know about the case? D**bA**. 70201 The facts. Find a place to make a difference and the community will support you.

I suggested that, if as the Mayor says, Police and Firemen are off limits, then surely we can look at other departments. I'm also not convinced that there aren't savings in the Police and Fire Departments either. There are always things around that can be scaled back. Hire an objective 3rd party consultant that specializes in this. They work on a contingency basis and are paid based on the amount of savings they find. Do you know the names of any such consultants? As for your saying you did: you didn't. Why don't you just post your entire idea instead of making people drag it out of you a piece at a time? KHS81
Does anyone know if we still have a captain, lieut, 2 sargants at the police sub-station? That seems pretty excessive to me. 68934 Most times the substation is closed. I go by there almost every day. On the rare occasion you'll see a patrol car or two parked. But for the most part the substation is dark.

In my career, I've been involved in cost cutting initiatives and have seen that bringing in an experienced 3rd party can be very successful. I'm simply trying to offer this as suggestion in the hope that our mayor and council will look into it. Surely, they have the connections to identify someone who can do this. I also seem to recall that a NJ state auditor came in a few years back and did something similar but that the recommendations were never acted upon. Don't recall, however, whether it was done under our current mayor or a previous one.

There IS however a Sergeant assigned to the Desk, and a Patrol Officer assigned to that station EVERY DAY from 2pm-10pm If KHS81 "Never" sees anyone there i suggest he get his glasses checked. Guest Was it because?
ask the mayor since he's the one who said it. 70693 Mangin has kept oddly quiet on all those police promotions. If not for the substation, then was it just to increase salaries in the police department? Why unnecessarily spend tax dollars?

I'd like to hear a date and the name of the official who made that statement. Also Pete Chiccinho, and Rosa Alves were the ones who spearheaded the Substation, and insisted that it be opened... IIRC when that project started Santos wasnt Mayor, he was a freshman councilman. Santos has TONS of other sins to his name, the substation isnt one of them.
