    sound?

Such drama. Oh well, nothing wrong with that. Enjoy your revival.
  2. Hmm.. Let me get this straight. You think that the fuzziness of the distinction between history and prehistoric civilizations somehow removes the absurdity of Paszkiewicz stretching the definition of "history" to events prior to the existence of any humans? Prior even to the existence of the earth? And you accuse other people of posting lame arguments? Good grief. Can you not see the absurdity of his statement, even in context of trying to defend something he said in a US history class? Granted, it's a fairly small point. We all say dumb things sometimes, especially when stressed. But to try to make out like it wasn't a dumb thing to say is just ridiculous. Your overconfidence is badly misplaced.

    ACLU To Sue Kearny

The point is that being guilty of one thing (or in this case, of merely advocating the legalization of it) does not mean that one should be summarily judged guilty of any other accusations that are made against him. Nor does it mean that he should be denied any rights that have not been specifically forfeit as part of the punishment for a conviction (loss of voting rights for felons, for example). Likewise, a defense of one thing does not constitute a defense of EVERYTHING said or done by the same person(s). The ACLU's defense of NAMBLA's free speech was no more a defense of pedophilia than their defense of Rush Limbaugh's right to privacy was a defense of prescription drug abuse. Keep in mind that the same freedom of speech that lets groups like NAMBLA, and the KKK advocate their sickness is the very same freedom of speech that allows you and I to point out the depravity of their views and advocate the opposite. That is as it should be. And that is what the ACLU defends. Let the scumbags speak. How else are we to know what they stand for? And let the rest of us speak, so we can openly oppose them. I'll leave you with something Thomas Jefferson said in response to a book that was being censored: For context, the source from which I copied this quote (http://www.britannica.com/presidents/article-9116909) is an interesting and short read. I highly recommend it.
  4. The demand for an apology and for having someone speak to the class to set straight some of Mr. P's misstatements, was made at the meeting between Matthew, Mr. P, and the school principal. That was months before any of this was made public.

    Observer Hypocrisy

Oops, you edited out the name at the bottom, but not at the top.

    What Happened

Oops. Poor choice of phrasing, Strife. I, and anyone willing to be honest with themselves, will recognize that what you're laughing at is the poster's apparent implication that one should expect this news to stir the same kind of ongoing debate as the Paszkiewicz business. But this will not prevent the lying bigots on this board from seizing this opportunity to accuse you of laughing at a soldier's death.
  7. There are two sides to EVERY argument. That does not mean they're equally valid. If by "right" you mean "justification", then no, they don't. The teacher is the wrongdoer here, not the ones who caught him at it. There is no valid justification for being as pissed at the LaClairs as at the teacher (and administration and school board). And if by "right" you actually mean "right" (as in "inalienable rights", not as in "right vs. wrong", "turn right at the stop sign" or "right wing"), well, a right to get pissed does not equal a right to threaten. The ones making the threats are wrong. Not the ones targeted by them.
  8. Perhaps he uses one of the many Christian inspired operating systems, such as: Linux, (http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/3655) or Mac. (http://www.woz.org/letters/general/72.html)
  9. Indeed there are. And they are to be commended for it without reservation.
  10. What browser are you using? I'm using Seamonkey and have never seen what you're describing. I get the normal context menu, and my Radial Context pie menu plugin also works without interference. (Pie menus are similar in effect to mouse gestures, but with a visual aspect so they're easier to learn and can be navigated visually to find options that are not used often enough to commit to motor memory)
  11. I doubt that "a teacher" is really a teacher. More likely just another bad fake like this one: http://forums.kearnyontheweb.com/index.php...indpost&p=43488
