There is no Christianity in any of that. And in Arabic, the word for GOD is ALLAH. So I could say, in ALLAH we trust, one Nation under ALLAH, so help me ALLAH. Kind of flies in the face of your CHRISTIAN NATION.

Yes, it's a CHRISTIAN NATION, with no room for Jews, Muslims, Hindus or Buddhists. They should all be sent home, or better yet, gassed like they did in Germany, right? Not only is it a CHRISTIAN NATION, but it's a WHITE CHRISTIAN NATION with no room for black people here. Segregation now, segregation forever. And not only is it a WHITE CHRISTIAN NATION, but it's a WHITE MALE CHRISTIAN NATION, with no room for females. What Athiest gave women the vote? Who even allowed women to learn to read and write? And not only is it a WHITE MALE CHRISTIAN NATION, but it's a WHITE MALE PROTESTANT CHRISTIAN NATION, with no room for Catholics, who last I checked also believe in Jesus. After all, isn't the Pope the Anti-Christ? And not only is it a WHITE MALE PROTESTANT CHRISTIAN NATION, but it's a WHITE MALE PROTESTANT BAPTIST CHRISTIAN NATION, with no room for Methodists, Presbyterians, Congregationalists, Episcopalians, etc. Welcome to the KKK - alive and well in Kearny, NJ. Sad that it has to come to a lawsuit. They just should have fired Paskewicz, or made him make an apology. It all would have blown away if he had just said, "You're right, I shouldn't have preached in the classroom. It won't happen again." That's all it would have taken to make this go away.

This is true. It's in the bible. Therefore it must be true. Because you can't find it in your bible proves that you are not really a Christian, because your vision is clouded by Satan.

It doesn't concern them. Their religion is fraudulent anyway, so anything we show them they just ignore. It's how Christianity has survived through the ages - faith not reason, faith not questions, faith not knowledge.

And stop changing the focus of the topic. Whether copied elsewhere or not, the topic is the "faith by committee" that Christianity is. They had to convene a committee in the 300s to determine if Jesus was divine! And roughly 800 years after supposed cruxifixion, a committee decided that a lamb on the cross wasn't graphic enough, so they decided to make a man being executed the focus of Christian symbolism. How appropriate for a failing religion - make the fear factor that much more obvious.

For the first eight centuries of the evolution of Christianity, Christian art represented a lamb, and not a man, as suffering on the cross for the salvation of the world. Neither the paintings in the Catacombs nor the sculptures on Christian tombs pictured a human figure on the cross. Everywhere a lamb was shown as the Christian symbol -- a lamb carrying a cross, a lamb at the foot of a cross, a lamb on a cross. Some figures showed the lamb with a human head, shoulders and arms, holding a cross in his hands -- the lamb of God in process of assuming the human form -- the crucifixion myth becoming realistic. At the close of the eighth century, Pope Hadrian I, confirming the decree of the sixth Synod of Constantinople, commanded that thereafter the figure of a man should take the place of a lamb on the cross. It took Christianity eight hundred years to develop the symbol of its suffering Savior. For eight hundred years, the Christ on the cross was a lamb. But if Jesus was actually crucified, why was his place on the cross so long usurped by a lamb? In the light of history and reason, and in view of a lamb on the cross, why should we believe in the Crucifixion? Someone should ask Paskewicz this question and write down his answers. AFter all, he is an "excellent" history teacher, and believer in Jesus. Ask your pastors this Sunday these questions. Watch them squirm as they try to evade the obvious.

No one really knows. We celebrate the 25th of December as the Mass of Christ, only because an early Roman committee adopted that date. Most scholars seem to point to 4 BC as the year of birth, but what do the Gospels say about this? Matthew says he was born when Herod was King of Judea. Luke says he was born when Cyrenius was Governor of Syria. But he couldn't have been born during the administration of these two rulers. Herod died in the year 4 B.C., and Cyrenius, who, in Roman history is Quirinius, did not become Governor of Syria until ten years later. Herod and Quirinius are separated by the whole reign of Archelaus, Herod's son. Between Matthew and Luke, there is, therefore, a contradiction of at least ten years, as to the time of Christ's birth. The fact is that the early Christians had absolutely no knowledge as to when Christ was born. According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica: "Christians count one hundred and thirty-three contrary opinions of different authorities concerning the year the Messiah appeared on earth." Think of it -- one hundred and thirty-three different years, each one of which is held to be the year in which Christ came into the world. And yet we are supposed to believe that the Bible is the Word of God, Inerrant and Infallible.

Tell me whose story this is: Conceived by a virgin, he was the only begotten son of a God. His mother was Miriam (Mary, Meri) and his "father" was JoSeph(Joseph). His foster father's ancestry was from royalty. His annunciation was given by an angel and his birth was heralded by a wonderful star. His birthday is celebrated with manger scenes around the time of the Winter Solstice. Shepherds witnessed his birth, which was announced by angels. During his infancy the reigning king tried to have the child murdered. An Angel appeared to his parent telling him to take the child and hide. He was 12 years old when he went through the sacred ritual of his faith, and after that event nothing further appears about his life until he is 30. He meets the Baptiser and works with him to spread the message. The Baptiser is later beheaded. He wanders in the desert and is taken up a high mountain where he is faced with temptation and resists. As his ministry grows, 12 disciples follow him and watch him cast out demons and walk on water, heal the sick and restore sight to the blind. They watch as he "stills the seas" with his powers. He demonstrates his power over death by raising a well known person from the grave in a city that translates in to English as "House of Anu" (Beth-Anu in Hebrew, known as Bethany - see John 11). Gave his most famous sermon on a mountain and died by crucifixion next to two thieves. His body was removed to a tomb, where he descends into hell and is resurrected after three days. Several woman announce his resurrection, and when he returns is expected to reign for 1000 years. Today his status is both as a God and a Man and is called in English "the annointed one." He is also known as "The good shepherd, the lamb of God, the bread of life, the son of man, the Word, the fisher, the winnower." He is associated with the zodiac sign of Pisces, the fish. So Bryan, whose story is this?

Therein lies the problem. Christians aren't trained to think about things like this. They aren't trained to think period. They accept what is taught to them by their preachers on "faith" and aren't allowed to question. They accept whatever drivel is thought up to support an ancient creation myth, currently the most popular one. Ever notice how religions before Christianity are now called "mythology?" Egyptian Mythology, Babylonian Mythology, Greek and Roman Mythology, etc. Their Gods are reduced to cute stories to be studied in literature. Hopefully 200 years from now the Christian Mythology will be studied as well. Comparitive mythology courses will uncover that the Jesus figure in Christian mythology closely resembles the Mithras of Persian Mythology and the Horus figure of Egyptian Mythology. But Christians can't think like that. They have the "truth" as told to them by their pastors. The Bible Says it, I believe it, and that settles it is their mentality. Kearny is no different than other backwater towns across the US where superstitious people try to claim their superstition is better than all other superstitions. And yes, the rest of the country is laughing as evidenced by the posts from around the US in support of Matthew.

That's the sad part of this fiasco. Our country is so divided over Bush's mess it would be crippling to impeach this idiot. But you're right, they impeached Clinton because he lied to the grand jury about having an affair with "that woman." But we don't talk about impeaching the current president about commiting illegal wiretaps, illegal detentions, and other felonies. Impeachment or not, this Bush is probably the black sheep on an otherwise proud dynasty. I don't know Jeb that well, but he seems more intelligent and comptent than his older brother.

1) Was that really a response to our attacking Iraq? The Neocons would like to say so, but I'm not convinced that was the reason. After all, South Africa also disarmed. Lybia wanted back into the world community long before our attacking Iraq as evidenced by cooperation with the British in turning over the Pan Am bombers and compensating families. 2) You've got to be kidding! So Egypt had an election for which the outcome was all but assured - Mubarak is still the dictator of Egypt. And Saudi Arabia with democratic reforms? The most backward of all the Islamic Kingdoms? 3) Had we caught the Pakistani merchant before invading Iraq we might have known that he didn't sell them the nuclear technology. And why haven't we punished Pakistan because of this? And why haven't we punished the North Koreans? Ah, they don't have oil. 4) The Oil for Food scandal was caused by greed, this is true. But the oil for Iraqis scandal since our invasion is a lot worse. Where is the oil? Why hasn't it flowed to world markets to bring down the price? Why hasn't it funded their own reconstruction? 5) Freedom for Iraqis to face sectarian death squads. The Kurds were doing quite well under the US Protected No-Fly-Zone and are still doing well today, although the corruption up in Kurdistan is driving many people away. See the recent NPR story (although you probably think NPR is also a liberal media). 6) I'll agree with this one. In fact, with US troops in Afghanistan (eastern neighbor to Iran) and Iraq (western neighbor to Iran) we have the Iranians surrounded if we ever get enough troops to attack. After all, after Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, Iran holds the third largest proven oil reserves in the world. They have it, we need it. 7) Ah yes, neutralization of Al Queda. Like they were in Bali, Madrid, and London since our invasion. But remember, we have to win the war. Al Queda only has to not lose. Their soldiers WANT to die for Allah. Our young people don't WANT to die, but are willing to die for the cause. 8) Yes, Hussein is deposed and dead. Now let's get rid of Kim Jung Il. Oh wait - they don't have oil. Ah, but Hugo Chavez does, and Pat Robertson, that God-fearing Christian did suggest that we assassinate him. Can't you just feel the Christian love? 9) Yes, now we realize that Iraq really was no threat! Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz all LIED about the threat, and Colin Powell and most of America fell for the lie. Gee, it turns out there were no weapons of mass destruction after all. Gee, he didn't have chemical weapons to use against our troops after all. 10) Christian Conservatives continue to blather about the God of Love, while our Christian president slaughters tens of thousands of Iraqis in the name of Christ, the founder of America.

When Paskewicz is fired, it will end. When Paskewicz admits he was wrong to preach, it will end. When Paskewicz resigns, it will end.
