I just read about Matthew in the NY Times and wanted to lend my support to his efforts. His actions demonstrate the value of critical thinking...which is the main purpose of education. Education is the opportunity to be exposed to the vast amount of ideas about our world, to consider many points of view and their origins and then to weigh those opinions, or theories or positions using a mind trained to discern the validity and the intention of those viewpoints.
Clear thinking and precise expression of those thoughts is what the world so desperately needs. Bravo, Matthew!
