    VILLAGE PARADE

    Was JD driving the car?
  3. Millan signs on houses with no registered voters?! McDonough's signs are all over houses with no registered voters. I can list you houses just in my neighborhood. Get your facts straight.

    POLICE

Parking Enforcement Officers have no authority to issue summons when it comes to Title 39 infractions. CIVILIAN dispatchers also have no authority. So you're back to the 48 police officers that the town has, when they all decide to show up since they have unlimited sick time. Don't forget, our wonderful mayor is DOUBLING the town's population without adding police officers. 30,000 residents + 25,000 soccer fans (if the stadium has a good day) = ONE HELL OF A PROBLEM. Remember when the Sopranos were here, that was only 10,000 people added.

  6. Your best bet is to move out of town so your son can join sports.
  7. You're telling me that all of the members on the town council have taken these classes? That's bulls**t. I want to see the proof.
  8. It is not Peter's wife, its another family member.
  9. Anthony Comprelli, Chief School Administrator, makes $155,969 a year!? That's ridiculous. Fred Confessore, Assistant Supt makes $142,391?! I went into the wrong profession.

    Development scam

Kearns had a great plan put into place for when they began the work on 280, and what did that do? TRAFFIC BACKUPS! An hour and a half to get from one end of town to the other at the height of rush hour.

    HIGGINS

    Who was the person?
  12. Those who are thinking of purchasing one of the new housing units in town will have to sign an agreement with Peter Higgins of the Redevelopment Agency stating that they will undergo either a vasectomy or a hysterectomy before they can be allowed to move into their new home, and pay the $22,000 a year in taxes. Once they have been sterilized we can then rest assured that they will not produce offspring that will enter our great school system. They can also enter a lottery if they choose to be one of the couples per 100 housing units that can have their allotted 1.7 children.

    Development scam

The other property owners in town (the homeowners and the business owners who are not special enough to be granted a tax abatement) will experience a drastic increase in taxes because the town will have to make the money from some where, and it isn't going to be from the new property that gets to pay a fraction of their true property taxes for years to come. It is my understanding that most of the abatements will last for 10 years. Sweetheart deals for the developers by the Mayor and Council, compliments of the Harrison taxpayers.

    Development scam

A tax abatement is an agreement between a property owner and a town in which the town and the party agree to have the town collect a portion of the real property taxes that the property owner would have paid without the abatement.
  15. Go to the Town Clerk's Office and pull an Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request on the Recreation Department's budget to see how the money is spent.

    Speak Up

I'm sorry, that's not on the agenda. Please sit down.
  17. If something ever happens to me, I want an East Newark cop to respond. East Newark's ONE COP on duty will be at my house faster than the 5 cops on a squad in Harrison would be at it (yea, 5 when they all show up and don't call out sick. Thank you Chief for unlimited sick time), and I don't even live close to East Newark.
  18. I just read in the September 13, 2006 edition of the Star-Ledger about the new stadium. Here are some excerpts: "For Harrison, the stadium, scheduled to open in July 2008, will be the centerpiece of a $1 billion redevelopment plan that will convert Harrison's abandoned industrial waterfront into a modern, live-work-and-play transit village anchored by 800 apartments and dozens of stores and restaurants." Now add the other 8,200 apartments that the genius redevelopment agency approved and see how much the transit village residents like living there then. "With a stage at one end of the stadium that will make the facility a top concert venue during the spring and summer, developers say they have a formula that has proven successful in Denver, San Diego and other cities, despite major traffic jams on game days." Denver, Colorado has an area of 154.9 square miles. San Diego, California has an area of 372.0 square miles. Harrison, New Jersey has an area of 1.2 square miles. IF DENVER AND SAN DIEGO ARE HAVING MAJOR TRAFFIC JAMS ON GAME DAYS AND THEY ARE SO LARGE, WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO HARRISON ON GAME DAYS!? "None of this will come cheap - for the soccer team, AEG or taxpayers, who will spend $120 million on the project and hope the investment gets repaid in future taxes and parking fees." We already spent $40,000,000.00 on this stadium, and you're going to tell me we might pay more? "The town of Harrison has issued $40 million in bonds, guaranteed by Hudson County, that will help cover the costs of acquiring and cleaning up land near the site of the former Guyon Pipe company for future development and for constructing new roads and utilities." As far as I know, that $40,000,000.00 was just for the remediation and the purchase of the land, not the construction of new roads and utilities. As far as I know, they don't know how they're paying for new roads. "Harrison also plans to pay back the bonds with real estate tax payments from the future construction, which is expected to include additional housing and retail space." There's that word again, TAX PAYMENTS! "We're helping the Red Bulls build their own stadium," Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise said. "Our calculations show the parking garage will be a moneymaker with just the commuters. The events at the stadium will be a bonus." I'm glad the county is at least getting their money back they're spending on this debacle. They actually have smart politicians. Holy sh*t, what a concept, a smart politican. "Attendance at Red Bulls and MetroStars games has lagged for years, and the team's owners are betting the lure of a new stadium can bring in thousands of new fans." Right. Here's the link in case you don't believe me, because these are all facts. http://www.nj.com/news/ledger/jersey/index...4510.xml&coll=1

They did not even mention the only Harrison resident to die in the attacks, Fabian Soto. How horrible that the man's own town (**** **** ) could not honor him on the day he died. Rest in Peace, Mr. Soto. KOTW Note: The above post was edited for content.
  20. How come you talk about Millan like that, but fail to mention Larry Bennett and Jesus Huaranga up there with the council. They're not even councilmen yet. Nice try though.

    Gridlock!!!!!!!!

You can complain, but those in Town Hall don't care, so your complaints will fall on deaf ears.
  22. For legal purposes (and to cover their asses) it has to be published.

    Video of Guyon

Sorry, 2smart4u. You're right, I need some confidence in my mayor and councilmen. I hope we can get some high end retailers like Wal-Mart and K-Mart and all those wonderful stores for our beautiful downtown. I cannot WAIT until it's all built so I can go down there and walk along the beautiful Passaic River. Wake up guys! This plan will bring Harrison DOWN.

Want to know why it's called Red Bull? It put the town of Harrison in the red, and it's bullsh*t.
