You have got to be kidding me is it true that educational programs were compromised in place of putting lights at Frankin School Baseball Field. And Athletic Chairman Zibbie Viscuso along with the other bozos voted for this in place of Education.Yea I can see the improvement, the homeowners in the area won't have to turn on their lights at night and the students will suffer for it.You failed to mention that FREDDIE!!!!!

Please explain to everyone exactly what educational programs were compromised because lights were approved at Franklin School Baseball Field? Just find one. The problem is that you won't be able to find any because your story is a fabrication. Why not go back and read the minutes from this year's board meetings. You'll not only see that educational programs have expanded for our children this year AND the board was able to provide lights at the field BUT also that it was all done while spending less money than was spent in last years budget.

Don't lose sight that all improvements in the district directly benefit our children. Our high school baseball teams use the field regularly and with the Gunnel Oval closing for environmental cleanup, this will provide another location for our children to use.

You're dead on. At a time when teachers are asked or should I say told that their supplies are being cut, athletic programs being cut, retiring teachers not being replaced, etc, etc, this Knucklehead Viscuso demands lights be put up at Franklin Field. The field has not had lights forever now all of a sudden it has to have lights. So lets spend $250,000.00 on lights instead of students and teachers for education.

I understand it is a new field and lights will complement it, but not now when there is horrible budget woes. When the financial position of the BOE improves than go for putting up lights, but now, NO WAY!

There is no need for lights the high school field has lights where the football team, soccer and band practice and play games. You have Harvey field which has lights as a second option. The baseball team does not play night games and during their season it is light to 8:30 pm, so what are the lights for anyway?

Is it really the cost of the lights you are concerned with? Or is it that a member of your family didn't get a contract out of it? You think no one knows who you really are but you are so transparent! I think I saw that fake smile of yours on an episode of Mean Girls my fifth grader was watching last night!

It is interesting that the issues pertaining to TAXES are not being addressed when decisions like this are being made in such a reckless way. You mean to tell me that this money couldn't have been used in a better way to enhance EDUCATION? You state that the Town needed more available space because of the problems at the Oval? NONSENSE!!!! Was there any survey done in the area to see if the property owners would want lights glaring into their windows at night? And if this is so urgent why didn't the Mayor and Town Council foot the bill. Your argument is very weak and this was a BONEHEADED DECISION that this Board has undertaken. This Majority is feeling their MUSCLES and believe that they are unbeatable when they add just another BRAINLESS DECISION that offered no EDUCATIONAL VALUE at a time when the KEARNY SCHOOL SYSTEM needs it BADLY. SHAME ON YOU VISCUSO!!!!!!!!

Instead of complaining, Run for the BOE.

If you think you have the answers run for a board seat.

Otherwise, Thank you to those who are running.

He did and lost big time last year. Guess he's mad because he couldn't get the contract to do the work. Right, Bobby?

Why didn't the Mayor and Council pay for it? You have got to be kidding right? First of all, the Mayor has his purse tightly secured. Second of all, it is a BOE field why should the M&C pay for it? Move on to another issue this one is ridiculous!

What educational value could have been added with $250.000 instead of lights that will only invade the privacy of the already OVERPRICED PROPERTY OWNER who lives in the Franklin School area. I also stand my ground in that the Quality of Education was COMPROMISED in place of LIGHTS at FRANKLIN FIELD. SHAME ON THIS BOARD FOR VOTING FOR THIS DUMB DECISION!!!!!!!!!!

The fact is that your position is without merit. Do some research before you try to get everyone fired up based solely on your hearsay and innuendo. You claim that educational programs have been negatively impacted by the board's decision and that the quality of education was compromised but you continuously fail to list even one program that was affected. You're against the lights. Everyone gets it but it is obvious that the delivery of education is improving with each passing day. It helps having qualified educators directing the districts operations.

This is the first time on this blog someone has used the "liar, liar, pants on fire" excuse when they couldn't backup their bogus claims. I guess you really can't provide one compromised program. So sad...

Oh my position most certainly has merit. The fact that your argument is so weak that you can actually try to spin this decision in the Board's favor show's the arrogant and reckless spending that is displayed by this Board of Education. The question I have to you is and you can answer your own question, Did you replace retired teachers and are you working with less staff than last year? Is it true that teacher's will have less supplies because of lack of money in the budget? Has the budget been reduced in the High School Athletic Dept? Has the overall School Budget been reduced and the quality of education compromised with also an increase in Property Taxes which as a result, the Property Tax Payer will actually pay more into education this year and get less services in return? The decision to put lights in Franklin Field has no merit and trying to defend it shows you have no respect on how you are spending the people's money, (AND IT IS THE PEOPLE'S MONEY YOUR SPENDING). I gave you simple questions that you can answer if you like because I believe you will ZIG-ZAG around the answers like you normally do when you can't justify why you spent $250,000 on lights when this money could have been used for educational purposes. Also I need not remind you of next years budget with cost over runs at the High School and the additional money spent on the Midland Avenue Building, How is that going to impact taxes in Kearny? The public is going to way in on these decisions that have been made over the last several years and the bubble is going to burst in this "LITTLE NETWORK OF POLITICAL JUNKIES" that over many years have turned a non-paying position into a wealth of fortune in terms of securing employment for family and friends. If people don't believe what i'm saying look at the board minutes on "KEARNY SCHOOLS .COM" and look at all the names that were put at the top of the list over the years, while others were put to the side. Its amazing that the public doesn't know what goes on here but I strongly believe the public will weigh in and the party will over for this little group that have no life and are obsessed with POWER in protecting their self-interests in making sure family and friends are protected from people who are trying to provide a balance and fairness in a system that is so out of control it will need a town wide call to the people to show this Board that the PUBLIC will no longer sit on the sidelines and be subjected to the reckless decisions that have been made and as result with all the legal expenses, paying 2 supt's of school, lights at Franklin Field, and the wasted money on the over spending at the HIGH SCHOOL and MIDLAND AVENUE. What could have been?? Hiring more Teachers??? Lowering Class Sizes??? Giving the supplies needed to equip our teachers with the tools for enhancing education?? Boy!!! what we could have done with that money in making our Students and Teachers better prepared for years to come, It's shame that Teachers are finding it harder to teach with less, We have great Teachers and that is what is keeping this District a float and certainly not this current Board of Education and Adminstration.

Its interesting that Freddie has remained silent and offers no response to this post. Its because there isn't any defense for the decisions that have been made by this Board. Wasted money on going after people and lights that will offer no educational value in a time when there is no money, will never amount to giving the STUDENTS, TEACHERS, and PROPERTY TAXPAYERS the services that they deserve. The new slogan in the election this year and I repeat should be " HAVE YOU REALLY HAD ENOUGH" Go to KEARNYSCHOOLS.COM for all the information you need to educate yourselves on the happenings of what goes on in your schools.

Excellent post. It baffles me that a legitimate post like yours, with questions posed without attacking anyone and the reply........crickets !!! Than suddenly the peanut gallery circles their wagons and just begins attacking previous people who served on the BOE again and again. It adds no creditability to themselves or the people they hold up on a pedestal. The same person keeps posting the same nonsense over and over again. Get a life, seek some professional help because your rants show a pattern of no self confidence and strong fear of others.
