Guest windows
Can someone tell me why I had to wait 28 mins to et out of my driveway the other night? Why does it take so long for a officer to show up? I have lived here for many years and this seems to be getting worst. I know everyone has to do more with less but there should be enough cops working to handle this.no?
Guest Guest
The HPD has been reduced to 38 Officers. Some shifts have only 3 Officers working. They have to prioritize and a blocked driveway is low on the totem pole. Maybe if they didn't have to pay Doran 200,000 per year for a made up job, they could appoint more officers which they need. You have X number of Police Officers, Y number of Shifts to fill, and Z number of calls per shift......while it doesnt seem that way to you, in the grand scheme of things, a Blocked driveway rates pretty low on the priority scale... Say you have 2 officers working...all it takes is one bad Accident, or rolling Domestic to take both of them out of service for a while. Guest Guest
They may have had more serious calls than a blocked driveway .. At times there are only a couple officers on duty . Please be patient

Please be patient It doesn’t matter how many police officers we have. What matters, is that we have a well staffed and well paid school administration. The board of education should hide their heads in shame.
Guest Guest
Ok, when I had to call 911 it took the wonderful HPD to get to my house over 45 mins!!! Explain that ... And then when they FINALLY showed up, they rang my front door. The HPD is a joke!! Half of them are way over weight and couldn't run to save their owns lives. Thankfully, I wasn't being held at gunpoint or having a massive heart attack.
Guest Cross Street
Did anyone lookup Harrison Superintendents web page? Take a look. Doran is now listed with his picture as Personnel Director with his old position still listed on ribbon above his picture? Doran is only an over paid public servant so why is his picture listed on this web page? Maybe his nephew who runs the IT Department? This is too funny. Guest Me
If you see them doing something wrong put in a formal complaint and it will be investigated. otherwise, they will continue. They have a Chief who lives in Lyndhurst and most supervisors live out of town and are more like buddies and don't supervise because they don't want to be critsized by other PBA members. Guest Stone Man
1 of the problems is too many supervisors and not enough Patrolman. The HPD has been reduced to 38 Officers which should call for 6 Sergeants 2 Lts. 1 Capt and a Chief. There are 6 Squads and 1 Sgt. should be in charge of each squad. 1 Lt. should be in charge of Patrol and 1 in the Detective Bureau. 1 Capt. would be in charge of Administrative duties and Internal Affairs. They have instituted steady 12 hour shifts of 3 on and 3 Off. A total of 10 superior Officers should be able to supervise the department leaving 28 Patrolman to Patrol the streets. The size of each squad should be determined by the number of calls for service. A Town of 1.2 square miles should have a response rate of under 4 minutes.
