Guest Guest
Kearny Federal Bank was robbed and the suspects got away easily. Criminals terrorizing Harrison residents and NOT getting caught is business as usual. The word is out that Harrison businesses and residents are easy marks for any type of crime. The PBA has ruined the HPD with incompetence, failure to maintain staffing levels and putting promotions ahead of hiring more Police. The PBA philosophy of replacing Police with cameras is a total failure. The skeleton crew of Cops (30 total by years end) along with sick time abuse and vacation days leaves the residents f*%%%d for good. This is an urgent situation! 1) Demotions could free up some money. 2) The Mayor doesn't need a $130,000/year secretary. Three new Officers could be hired by getting rid of her. 3) Many other patronage and nepotism jobs could be eliminated or given drastic salary cuts. It's sad that nobody seems to care. At this point, between the schools and the town, we probably employ more secretaries than police officers. The part-time mayor has a full-time secretary making $130,000, more than most police officers who are actually essential to the town. I think each school has 2. The superintendent and board of education offices have at least 3.
