Why should that be a problem? Maybe one of ''Them'' one day might save your ass in a situation. Merging Harrison and East Newark PD would be a good idea . There are still a few good men on the Harrison and East Newark PD to pick up the torch of Chief Sheehan. Merging Harrison the town with East Newark the town wouldn't be a good idea, I live right on the border of East Newark /Harrison and to be honest with you. East Newark PD are seen multiple times every day and multiple times at night patrolling our street, Talking with residents and smiling while doing so. The East Newark DPW did a great job with snow removal as well. Harrison PD are on a public relations trip down on the other (CONDOS) part of town, So their attention is elsewhere. Good job EAST NEWARK our family has always loved being almost a part of EAST NEWARK for years. There are so many of our street's residents that feel East Newark just does a better job in general on our street.. A merger would let East Newark take over more patrolling area .From The Industrial Center along Passaic ave down to Harrison Ave, Up Harrison Ave to Frank E Rodgers , Up F.E.R. to Sherman Ave. Of course East Newark would have to hire a few more officers, Or Harrison officers already familiar with patrolling that area would transfer to East Newark PD. This bold move would free up Harrison PD to focus more on the new developing part of Harrison. Trust me , the East Newark officers are very familiar with this part of Harrison. And the residents would grow to love the East Newark officers. Those old ideas of the past will only get these towns so far. As the town develops , So should new ideas.. Are we going to let old men run the town forever with the same stale ideas.Or are we going to empower new ideas, that change with the times. Are we going to let old men run the town forever with the same stale ideas.Or are we going to empower new ideas, that change with the times. you need to realize that east newaek is not civil service. those officers there ****** ********* ** ** officers any where else. the ones that were left before ****** *****, Harrison needs to hire off the list and more minorities not family members off the state list, only then youll see a real change and work done the locals get comfortable and just collect a check lchange is needed, but leave east newek alone t they are a whole lot of issues that no town needs lets save them for parking patrol at Walmart kmart that they qualify for. if they sober up to drive Edited April 6, 2016 by KOTW Content.
