This shows that 32% of the KFD are in supervisory roles. Contract info. also shows that at least half of the Firefighters are making in excess of $100,000 per year. This is a blatant waste of taxpayer funds. If this was a private company it would have been bankrupt and liquidated a long time ago. There are very few fires in Kearny so what the hell do they do all day and night besides sleep, watch TV and run personal errands? A volunteer Dept. can be easily implemented. Are YOU Volunteering???? Considering that Kearny couldnt keep an All Volunteer Ambulance Corps running 24/7/265, how do you expect to get enough people to be Firefighters????? Most Firefighters "know somebody" to get in and that's evident by the hard-line of white male fraternization. Women and minorities are largely non-existent in this job. The intellectual Teachers and Police have gender and racial diversity so why not the simpleton manual labor job of Firefighting? Who wouldn't want a job where (white) men are allowed to drive into Kearny once or twice a week and sleep for $100,000 a year, upper tier health benefits and every perk imaginable. The rosters of paid FD's are like one big incestuous family. More motivated RESIDENTS can be easily had at half the price and much less. The current residents will soon be paying $10,000/year in property taxes and overpaid, underworked, non-productive employee Firefighters must be stopped from gaming the system. The names do appear to show that African Americans were once again NOT admitted to the Easiest Job on Earth Club. IMO, it appears that 3 of the 8 appointed to the 25 year no work paid vacation gang had a strong nepotism and patronage advantage. It doesn't seem fair that 38% of the hand picked SOTD (Sleep on the Taxpayers Dime) crew may have had mommy & daddy or another political insider give them an unjust advantage. Also, is it supposed to show gender diversity when only 2 of 98 (or 2%) of the lazy bastards are women? IMO, it's a damn disgrace that African Americans and women continue to be discriminated against for inclusion in the G.E.D. requirement, overpaid, uneducated, manual labor Firefighter job.
