Neither the woman who just took a job in Harrison - that would be Dr. Cynthia Baumgartner - or the VP who went back to KHS - Marty Hoff - ever denied, disavowed or argued that they were long-time FRIENDS with the GREAT GAZZU - that would be **** *******. There's absolutely no reason why they would deny friendships that have endured for decades. What is beyond belief is the innuendo that the GREAT GAZZU was still running the school district - while retired - through his "FRIENDS". Baloney, pure & simple. This irrational fear of the GREAT GAZZU as evidenced by the FF is either really scary or absolutely hysterical. Two cops, a mayoral hopeful and a whatever showed their true intentions before a full house. They had a unique opportunity to do the right thing for our children and they failed miserably. Again and again, they put politics ahead of our kids. It was clear from the presentations that both individuals before the board are highly qualified for the positions they held. By not renewing Dr. Baumgartener and Mr. Hoff, and with their inability to attract a permanent superintendent, they have created such a huge gap in the administration that the school district is collapsing all around them. They are too dumb and too stubborn to see it. They have succeeded in putting the district on its head and there appears to be no end in sight to their insanity. Their motivations are crystal clear. Our kids mean nothing to these five individuals as long as there are political axes to grind. Castelli is up for re-election this year and King and O'Malley are up next year. Send them a strong message by voting them all out. Put our children first and lets take back our schools. Shame! Shame! Shame! Putting a 5 year teacher, Mr. Avitable to replace a 30 year educator, Mr. Hoff is a superdisgraceful act on their part and an insult to the public's intelligence. Take out the fabulous 5! Bit of a slap in the face to the multitudes of GOOD AVERAGE CITIZENS who have done this for more than a century, don't you think? Or are you so enamored of the current board majority that you actually believe they are somehow special. They're not. They ran for election (for whatever reasons you care to believe), got elected and are now doing what they supposedly WANTED to do by running for election. But, making the BOE better for kids and taxpayers? You'd have to give specifics on that one, cause that's a stretch. Your use of the word democracy in connection with this board majority is laughable! They're a board of 5 and quite happy to stay that way. There's practically no communication between the entire board and they make big ill-advised decisions with no one's counsel but their own. Kind of hard to agree - or disagree for that matter - when you don't even know what the topic is! Keep trying to make that connection between the TOWN and the boe . . . puppets . . . administrators . . . blah, blah, blah. Get some new material. Street cleaning is a 4 pm not 5 pm. There's a legitimate argument to be made regarding a conflict of interest for members of the police force, including those at the top of the organizational chart, also sitting on the boe.
