There is one huge difference between now and when our ancestors came here 50 - 100+ years ago! 

They learned the American Way!  The learned to speak ENGLISH!  They worked hard and became AMERICAN CITIZENS!  They were proud to call themselves American Citizens. 

All we hear from the immigrants these days is "Back in my country...." 

Hey! Not for nothing, when you move to this country, THIS IS YOUR COUNTRY!

Get rid of the illegal immigrants, and for any one that is here legally, give them a specified amount of time to become a citizen, which would include showing they are a productive part of society, or they go back to "their country" and can't come back.

This is sad -- live and let live. You aren't any better than someone who just came here just because your ancestors were here 50 or 100 years ago. Most of the people who are new to our town are hard working people who are trying hard to make a good life for their families.  How is that different from what the rest of us are doing?  Personally, I think it takes a tremendous amount of courage to leave your country and start over in a foreign country. It took courage for my grandparents 100 years ago and it takes courage for people today. Be patient and be kind.  Nobody cares how long you've been here --- we are all here now and there is no reason why we can't all make it work.  Get over your holier than thou attitude, we all have more similarities than we have differences.

I am an american citizen by naturalization, sometimes I even get angry with the americans that are born in this country and don't know how to appriate what a great country we live in, and when I have to tell an immigrat if you don't like go back to your own country, I tell them to. My english is from night school, having to work all day and some times a part time at night, it is not to much time to go to school, but my family have never recived welfare, We are very proud to be american citizen, I still love my country, I never will never move back, I think it ia a disgrace when you are here and all you do is to think about making money and goin back.

What we need is for people to step us speak up about your concerns, it seems that people are afraid of retribution, who are these mayor and council people that you are so afraid of?  speak up and vote those who have no mind of their own.  Yes I hope that Maria wins so that at least the clowns that think they own our town are put in their palce, because these people like Steph are not afraid to ask questions that the clowns do not want to answer, because they lie, lie, lie.

okay so now your saying whites are not immigrants....my father inlaw is proud to have his name in ellis island ...he is american of german descent...and my mother in laws family name is also in ellis island she is american of polish descent...so you see ....caucasians came here in boats just like all the immigrants that you are talking about ..this country was founded by immigrants. i think the real point here is that these people, from peru are mostly illegal have criminal records and stay in illegal rooms causing massive problems for the town. they tend to piss away their paycheck and think only about partying the weekend. the men treat their wife/girlfriends like second class and heaven forbid you walk by them they go nuts with the cat calls. so yeah they should go back to peru and learn respect, dignity and RESPECT! those elect two were merely tokens that will be destroyed by Maria and friends come elections! enough with the red /white flags already.
